    The seeds smell and taste fresh, and I ended up purchasing three bags because of the good quality. The bag packaging is composed of very thick and durable plastic (can't be torn open, must be cut), but one of the bags arrived with a tiny, but perfectly circular, hole which was obviously punctured using a needle or a syringe. I doubt that this was done accidentally because the plastic packaging is too strong for accidental punctures. Other than this flaw, everything about the seeds is impressive.

    Excellent product. I started to use it after my favourite black seed oil was discontinued. Apparently seeds need to be “activated” by heat between 50 and 80 degrees so be careful not to burn them. I put them in the non stick pan on very low power and mix until they are well worm, but definitely before the smoke starts (they burn easily- made that mistake once). I grind them in coffee grinder afterwards, but again be careful not to overdo because of the heat. You do not want the paste, but a powder. I use one table spoon 2 x daily. Mixed in my hot soup or in yogurt.

    I am a practicing vegan and saw these seeds got high marks for cholesterol reduction by the Vegan Dr. who "puts it to the test". While I don't know if it will make a difference, it certainly won't hurt to give it a try. Only takes 1/4 tsp a day, so my bag will last a long time. Probably a good idea to refrigerate to help maintain freshness. I'm not soliciting just letting you know why and how I am using it.
