Product description
Roughly the size of a house key, the 0.3-ounce Recap is an ingenious multi-tool from Kershaw. It includes a bottle opener and a pry bar/flathead screwdriver tip for when you need them in a pinch. The Recap won’t clutter the limited space on a key ring, either. This little tool fits right at home in your pocket, bag, or purse.

- Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2025Verified PurchaseI bought this to put on my keychain and have a little prybar when needed for popping things open. It does that very well and has been very useful, but also has been great for scratching lottery tickets, the back of gift cards, which I buy and use for work all the time. I find myself using this way more than I ever expected.
- Reviewed in Canada on April 19, 2025Verified PurchaseThis pocket friendly pry bar from Keyshawn is a great EDC. Whether it’s tightening that wiggly cupboard, scratching you kids V-Bucks card(if you know you know😂), popping open a drink, prying out a a stuck battery, or the many other tasks you end up using it for. This little fella is helpful! I like that the tip has a stepped grind to it allowing you to have more grip. I also found it much more helpful to add a bit of paracord for grip and easy pocket access. Overall I’m impressed so what it is and wish I had a larger version. Thanks for stopping by. Hope my photo and review was helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the best tool, but it's always there when you need it.
Verified PurchaseMan, I hate airport security. This keychain never gave me any problems at an airport, which shouldn't be surprising, because I bought it explicitly because I didn't want trouble with airport security.
This tool has a distinct lack of sharp ends, which often leaves me wanting something pointy when I've only got dull objects. As a prying tool, I've mostly used it when I want to open something, and I'm compromising by not using something built for cutting things. I just wish I'd gone ahead and bought a small keychain knife, since that's most of what I use this tool for, and I'm not sure the tradeoff was worth not having a knife on my keychain. I haven't used it as a screwdriver, and I'm fortunate that I haven't needed to, because it's probably a horrible screwdriver. For opening packages, it's okay. The screwdriver end makes a horrible cutting tool, but the bottle opener works well enough for punching through tape in an emergency. However, it's completely useless against hard plastic packaging.
As a bottle opener, it works fine. However, it has a bit of a learning curve, and it's not so easy to open bottles at first. If I was looking for a pure bottle opener, I'd get something else. The Kershaw doesn't give you a lot of leverage, and the prying seems to bend the bottle caps and lock them into place after bending the edge. See the picture with the blue background to see what I'm talking about. Surprisingly, the cap is still quite secure even though it's seriously bent, since more than 50% of the cap is still attached. You can try to muscle the cap off from there, but it's a ton of effort. You can't really pull any further, since the bottom is about to slip off because the cap is bent, and the end of the bottle opener has started to push down on the cap, which means you aren't actually pulling the cap off by pulling harder. You're just expending more energy to bend the 30% of the cap that's not even connected to the bottle.
The solution is quite simple. Just rotate the bottle opener one quarter, and the cap pops off with almost no effort. Once you've figured out that you open it partially, then rotate the opener, it becomes incredibly easy to pop off even the most stubborn caps.
I realize this review might come across as a bit negative, but I actually really like my Kershaw. If I lost my keys, I'd probably buy another one. It's never the best tool for the job, but it's light weight, and small enough that I barely notice it on my keychain. For $10, it's worth it to have an emergency tool that's probably good enough when you don't have anything else. It's basically the Swiss Army Knife effect. You're willing to make a lot of sacrifices to be able to fit something in your pocket and carry it anywhere, and that effect is a lot stronger when your tool is only barely bigger than your other keys.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mini apri bottiglie: Pratico e portatile
