    The reviews are half right as it related connecting to Stihl power heads. Right out of the box it will connect to a Stihl Kombi-unit. However, if you want to replace the cutter head on a dedicated set of extended shears, only using the head unit, and not the provided 18" shaft, it will NOT work. The 18" input shaft does have a square male end to connect to kombi unit's female square. The OPPOSITE END of the 18" input shaft has the STAR design and that is what drives the cutter head, itself. So, to connect this to the end of a string trimmer or extended shears your machine must have a star drive input shaft.

    That being said, the star is an eight pointed star and that just means it's two offset squares. A little file work could probably make it take a square shaft. Other than that the quality seems all right
