- Reviewed in Canada on March 21, 2025Verified PurchaseNeeds better feed though for slides. Brightness control should be a variable slider and not a clicker. Slide holder is too short so its tedious. Resolution is ok.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 12, 2025Verified PurchaseI purchased this scan as a gift for my dad so he could finally scan all our old negatives and digitalize the photos from our childhood, and it turned out to be an absolute success! The process of scanning the photos was easy and straightforward, and it allowed us to relive so many beautiful memories. It’s been so rewarding to go through the old pictures and see moments from the past in such great quality. The scanning resolution is fantastic, capturing every detail and making the images look as good as new.
The fact that it's from Kodak, a trusted name in photography, really shows in the product's quality. It's clear that the company has put a lot of thought into making this device user-friendly, efficient, and reliable. My dad loved how quickly he could go through the slides and negatives, and we now have all these timeless memories safely preserved in digital form.
If you're looking to digitize old photos or slides, I highly recommend it —it’s a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to preserve their family history with ease and high quality!
- Reviewed in Canada on April 26, 2025Verified PurchaseVery good device! It didn’t fit my very special, professional needs and had to return it!
It is perhaps the best choice for the regular consumers out of all the rest! Price is right, quality is very good and very easy to use! I strongly recommend it!
- Reviewed in Canada on October 7, 2024Verified PurchaseHad a shoebox of slides to scan (all 135mm) and this machine handled it with ease. Like an assembly line, push them in the right, capture photo, and slides get pushed out the left in a neat pile.
While the convenience factor is high, the "scan" quality leaves a lot to be desired. OK for sharing in a pinch, but would not feel confident getting rid of the physical slides; just loses way too much detail in the process. It's essentially a slide viewer with a so-so digital camera inside.
The 14MP / 22MP interpolated seems completely redundant just to boost the MP count, no quality is gained. I actually regret scanning at 22MP since it just boosted the file size needlessly.
The USB-C port is for power only, wish it connected to the PC for file transfer. As it stands you have to move the SD between scanner and computer, which I was constantly doing to put them in folders. Also by moving the files off the SD, the numbering starts back at 001 when you scan more photos (not a big issue, but worth mentioning so you don't overwrite them accidentally).
Overall, it's not a bad product as long as you understand it's a quick and dirty solution to digitize your memories, not for high quality scans. Those that value sharp images should stay clear. I was able to go through 800 slides in about 4hr, although if it connected to PC I'd have saved a lot of effort moving the SD back and forth. If the next version improves the image quality it could really be a winner, but right now it's not there.

- Reviewed in Canada on January 1, 2025Verified PurchaseI used this scanner to digitize all of my father's and my slides and negatives. I considered using a service like LegacyBox, but (a) I didn't really want to let them out of my possession, and (b) the cost was prohibitive. I was able to do about 11,000 pictures over two or three weeks. Once you get on a roll, you can do several hundred per hour.
The resolution is great. My only complaint is that the preview shows a bit less than the full frame so you need to guess a bit when it is centered to capture the full shot. My Pentax SLR had the same problem. It would be much better to show more than what's captured with edge markers. For slides this isn't so bad because you can learn the position of the frame edge that centers it. For slides you have to back-and-forth and guess.
You need a flash card (not supplied). You scan to the card, and then transfer the card to your computer with USB cable (supplied, USB C native, with A adapter. Also, there's an HDMI cable so you can use a TV instead of the preview screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficiently scan 1000s of slides.
Verified PurchaseI’ve tried several ways of scanning slides before. But it was always a slow laborious process. With mixed results. This scanners design made it a lot easier.
The slide adapter is a tray the runs through the middle of the device. You clip it into place, and then feed the slides through the tray by hand. Allowing continuous feeding of hundreds of slides. At any time you only have 3 slides in the tray. Vertical alignment is fixed. You use the previous and next slide to push the one you are scanning. To center it in the screen. This manual positioning is acceptable, but I would have preferred a fully automatic solution. Once you have aligned the slide you press a button to take a photo of it. This is fast and efficient. Takes a couple of seconds per slide. Some color balancing controls are provided but I just used the defaults. I did try the adjustments but it didn’t improve the output. I scanned 3000 slides in a week. Didn’t give me time to fiddle with settings. Slides are not square. If you have portrait images, you have to scan them in landscape, or it chops the top and bottom off. Thickness of the slide can be an issue. Kodachrome and Ektachrome cardboard and plastic slides are thin, but I had some really chunky plastic slides. These wouldn’t slide through the tray. I had to remove the tray, clamp the slide in the center of it, and then reinsert the tray. It worked for the odd slide but I wouldn’t want to scan a box of them. The majority of the slides worked fine. Some cardboard Kodachrome slides from the 70s were a little oversize, making them hard to push through. Picture quality is good enough. Speed of operation is more important to me. You don’t need to be connected to a computer while you are scanning. Just need a USB power socket. The cleaning brush supplied with the scanner is useless. I used a puffer brush to blow dust and debris off the slides before feeding them into the scanner.
Im happy with the results so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Práctico, cómodo y sencillo de usar

1.0 out of 5 stars Defective Product
Verified PurchaseReceieved this yesterday and when I switched it on - saw a white dot on the screen. This is dead/defective pixel so would suggest you look into this on getting the unit. I am trying to return this for a replacement and if that does not happen then for a full refund. The other features work as mentioned but this screen defect is to watch out for.
