I like knock part. It eject ground coffee from the portafilter well due to the rubber pad sitting on top of the metal support that provides good impact. The look on this station is beautiful. The part that needs improvement is the front. It's clumsy when pressing down the tamper. Also, be careful of losing the rubber pad when emptying the ground coffee into a trash can. I had to look through the trash bags to find it when I realized it was no longer there the next day.

The wood frame and black metal insert is attractive, and I am comfortable leaving it out on the counter. Functionally, it's better and more sanitary than hitting the expresso portafilter on the side of the garbage can. It's easy to clean and good build quality. Should last through plenty of expressos. That said it does feel a bit expensive for a simple small wood and metal tray that is non-essential to making expresso.

The Good- this knockbox is attractive. The wood is nicely stained and compliments the black interior, removable metal box.

The Bad- while I received this product for free, at its given price point ($54.99 at time of writing) I’d expect more attention to material and finishing. I used my knockbox for a week, taking care to wipe it out and dry it after each use. However, the metal interior has started to rust along a weld point.

I also didn’t find the lip with removable rubber piece very intuitive in its design. I knocked that piece out a few times on accident and didn’t think that the portafilter rested neatly on it anyway.

The Verdict- Assuming the rust issue is a defect from manufacturing (it’s only occurring on one weld point), I would tentatively endorse this product. If other reviews over time indicate the same issues, buyer beware.
