    This is a mini handheld sewing machine for beginners. It has two speeds: high and low. This machine is suitable for a variety of materials from cotton, linen, and polyester, to “thin” denim. It also comes with a foot pedal which had a cord just long enough to touch the floor using the edge of my office desk to set up the sewing machine. It would have been nice to have longer cords for both the power supply and the foot pedal. It comes with three spools of white thread two of which are already connected to the sewing machine. There is also a battery compartment underneath for 4 AA batteries if one doesn’t want to plug it in. It seems well built, and it is light (1.39 lbs), and it's easy to store given its small size measuring about 9" x 7" x 4.5". This sewing machine actually works quite well, which I was surprised to find out given some of the other reviews. I haven't sewed much before so there was a bit of a learning curve for me to set things up. I read the very small print instructions carefully, which I needed a magnifying glass in order to read some of, and after a number of tries I was able to get the machine to stitch and repair some clothing I had. It is heavy enough and the platform large enough to sew just about anything that I’ll probably want to sew. I'm glad I ordered this sewing machine. Recommended.

    Worked well, for the brief time that it was working. We were trying to trim and hem a thin cotton table cloth when the lower bobbin winder mechanism gave up the ghost - the needle goes up and down, the bobbin carriage spins round and round, and nothing else happens. I took it apart to see what was going on and the overall design is pretty simple, the only weak point being the quality of the plastics used in the gears and other moving parts. I would suggest avoiding this one, and buying a real sewing machine at the thrift store for less money.
