Product Description

This acclaimed Oliver Stone drama presents the investigation into the assassination of President John F. Kennedy led by New Orleans district attorney Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner). When Garrison begins to doubt conventional thinking on the murder, he faces government resistance, and, after the killing of suspected assassin Lee Harvey Oswald (Gary Oldman), he closes the case.     Let me just start by addressing the claim that this movie has been thoroughly debunked, it hasn‘t. While Stone and Garrison played loose with facts here and there, the gist of this movie holds up. The main issue is that Stone uses composite characters like Willy O‘Keefe and Bill Brousseau, but that is a common trick in movies, plays and books.
    The movie follows the case that Jim Garrison brought against Clay Shaw in the late 1960s. It is not about Jim Garrison, he is merely a tool used to tell the story of the conspiracy behind the JFK assassination and America‘s confusion and growing outrage.
    Conspiracy theories aside, this is an absolutely top flight movie. It plays out like a hard boiled, paranoid, murky crime story. We feel the seediness of the Nawlins underworld introduced through Garrison‘s suspects like David Ferrie and Clay Shaw. You can feel the sweat on the back of your neck just watching Garrison‘s team in their hot hot hot D.A‘s office.
    The acting is outstanding. Kevin Costner as Jim Garrison is probably the best performance of his career. The astonishment and helplessness on his face while X tells him where its at, and his closing statement in the court room scene. It must go on for a good half hour but you never lose interest. Also, there are many unforgettable smaller roles. Donald Sutherland as the aforementioned X, absolutely drops a bomb on an already explosive film. Joe Pesci as David Ferrie could have easily turned into a farce and a joke, but Pesci toes that fine line perfectly.
    This is also one of the most layered and complex movies you‘ll ever see. The use of music, sound effects, b&w etc are mindblowing. The recreations of Dealey Plaza spliced with actual footage of the Zapruder film gives the audience a whole new perspective of familiar scenes. It is as layered and complex as any book on the assassination that I have read. It is a hard and challenging but at the same time riveting blockbuster. Highly recommended even for those who don‘t care about the JFK assassination.

    Truly one of the great movies that presents multiple theories about the tragic assentation of President Kennedy. The performances are all excellent. Oswald couldn't have assinated a hot dog without being caught in the act before completing the job, despite what the debunkers say. We will probably never know what truly happened in Dallas. I saw a PBS documentary 4 or 5 years ago, they used professional marksman that had over 1000 hours working with the Manlicher Carcinoma rifle with the same type of defective scope that was supposedly used by Oswald to do the assassination. Of course the professional marksman with over 1000 hours experience with the same defective scoped rifle managed to reproduce the shot, BUT Oswald wasn't a professional marksman who by all accounts had less than 3-4 hours experience with the rifle, there is absolutely no way a less than amateur person could have used one of the worlds worst rifles with a defective scope and to have hit anything let alone managing to kill Kennedy, NO WAY. I was deeply disappointed in PBS for selling Debunker Rubbish as fact when it was simply more lies and deception. I saw another PBS debunker documentary where they used lasers of all idiotic things to hit a target that was supposed to represent Kennedy, a laser isn't a rifle blast, there's no recoil, muzzle flash or high sounding blast noise when you point a laser at target PBS, more debunker vomit regarding the Kennedy assassination. JFK will give you an idea what most likely happened to President Kennedy.

    The CIA conspired to murder JFK in order to secure a place for artificial defence budgets. The military industrial complex is alive and thriving. We owe it to Jack Kennedy to watch this movie, and to 90’s Kevin Costner.
    Most importantly, we owe it to the young men and women who are manipulated out of their good intentions to serve lawless businessmen.
    There’s a special place down below for those politicians and weapons dealers who have condemned the sacred institutions of the army, navy, marines, and airforce to little more than the testing grounds for their experiments. Hopefully one day we see their glory restored.

This new box set offers loads of extras that will keep you occupied for hours.
