In all honesty, I don't see the hype around this product.

I did extensive research before buying this item, and saw almost unanimous reviews saying that it worked great.

When I got the JFJ Easy Pro, I was excited to fix some of my older games, so I tore it out of the box, read the instructions and got started.
First, I tried using Solutions #1 & #2 to fix a game with a few small scratches, that didn't work. No luck. Tried using the soft sandpaper, with both solutions. No luck. Tried the exact same again, and no luck. Finally, I resorted to using the coarse sandpaper, followed by the soft sandpaper, and both solutions. The game loaded to start, but then got the disc couldn't be read error again. I tried a couple more games that weren't working, with no luck, but didn't try again.

Overall, even if I was going to get the games to work, it's not worth having to run if through the cycles every time. That's on average 15 - 20 minutes for every disc that needed to be repaired. For me, it's easier to just get it done professionally.

Pros:
- Easy to 'use'
- Small design
- Repairs are cheap.

Cons:
- Made the games look better, but didn't function any better.
- Extremely messy
- Time consuming.

My first 10 disks I was only able to get 1 or 2 working out of luck. There was always a ring in the center of the disk and I eventually learned it was being caused by my soft sandpaper not being directly centered on the pad. This causes the side of the sandpaper to scratch a ring into the disk.

Once I replaced the soft sandpaper I was able to get 10/10 disks working now and I can even go back and repair the broken ones.

There is a learning curve but the product is the best for the price and with enough practice it will make most disks almost scratch free. Obviously there will be some minor scratches left but what do you expect when your sanding a disk? The reason it gets 4 stars from me is because of the price for supplies you need.

Be very careful with blu rays. Obviously, don't sand them, which the instructions do warn. However, even buffing can make them worse. Start with short buffing runs and work your way up. Do not follow the instructions and run it for the full 2 minutes on the first try. I have two scratched blu rays. 1 was made worse, the other I decided not to try because I can already read the main title.

This this is more successful on CDs. If you have CDs with scratched surfaces, this can make them readable especially when supplemented with spot sanding with 800 and finer paper. Spraying the sanding discs with water before each run also helps to avoid overheating the disc. If the damage is on the data layer, you are out of luck.

I managed to make 5 CDs perfectly readable that were previously not. Only one required sanding if I remember correctly. I have 15 CDs that look to have data layer damage that this obviously cannot repair. You may be surprised how many of your scratched CDs actually do have data layer damage when you examine them more closely.

You should also be careful not to damage the data layer when you're using this machine. Make sure the metal disc that you screw the data layer up against is clean and don't screw them in too tightly. Maybe even leave the paper disc in place there that the unit ships with. Likewise, make sure to use a clean soft surface when spot sanding.

j'ai essayé une multitude de machines de réparation de supports optiques, et je dois avouer que j'ai toujours été déçu en attendant d'utiliser celle-ci (j'ai même acheté des machines de 1000€ qui ne lui arrivent pas à la cheville), pour moi et mon expérience, la JFJ a LE meilleur rapport qualité/prix ! contrairement aux autres machines, elle n'utilise pas de polish liquide (qui au final sèche, croûte, salit etc ...). Elle utilise des abrasifs de différents grains ainsi que des polish en crème. Par contre, elle n'est pas "one step" (1 étape) contrairement à certaines où l'on place le cd à réparer, on règle un minuteur et on a plus qu'à attendre. La JFJ est plutôt à mon sens "3 steps" (3 étapes); 1/on choisit l'abrasif et le timing en fonction de la gravité des rayures 2/on polish avec la crème pour redonner la brillance 3/on termine en enlevant les résidus avec un spray nettoyant ; cela impose de rester à côté de la machine et d'être présent le temps du processus. Avant d'obtenir un résultat parfait, il faut "s'entraîner" à manipuler et à faire des essais avec différents abrasifs et timings (il y a 4 timing au choix), cela nécessite un petit apprentissage que je vous conseille de faire sur des supports de faible valeur commerciale. Vous pouvez l'installer où vous voulez, car elle n'a pas besoin d'être alimentée en eau (contrairement aux autres) et ne produit quasiment pas de saletés (au fur et à mesure des réparations, il va s'accumuler des résidus de crème polissante blanche et bleue un peu partout dans le corps de la machine, il suffit alors de passer un coup de sopalin et de récupérer ces résidus et d'ensuite de nettoyer avec une solution alcoolisée). Donc vous pouvez l'installer dans un bureau ou autres. Et enfin, cerise sur le gâteau, le prix des consommables est beaucoup plus abordable que sur les autres machines (comme c'est une fabrication Américaine, le siège est d'ailleurs en Californie), je vous conseille d'acheter vos consommables en Angleterre où vous paierez des frais de port ridicules contrairement aux U.S.A. (et vous serez livrés beaucoup plus rapidement), je ne veux pas faire d'ombre à �鶹��.fr, car malheureusement, le site ne propose pas dans l'immédiat la vente des consommables de cette machine, j'espère qu'avec cet avis, le site prendra la décision un jour de distribuer les consommables !
