Product description
After dying, coming back, taking Manhattan and dying again, Jason Voorhees is now back as a body snatcher in Jason Goes to Hell.
After dying, coming back, taking Manhattan and dying again, Jason Voorhees is now back as a body snatcher in Jason Goes to Hell, an impossibly fun slice of campy supernatural slasher action!
Jason Voorhees is finally dead! Or is he? After being blown to smithereens in a sting operation, the infamous killer's body is taken to the morgue in Youngstown, Ohio. But Jason can't be killed so easily, and his still-beating heart possesses the body of the coroner performing his autopsy. The now body-hopping Jason begins hacking and slashing his way back to his stomping ground of Crystal Lake, where his last living relatives, Diana, her daughter Jessica and her newborn baby Stephanie still reside. Only by them can he be truly killed, and only through them can he be reborn, and Jason is determined to return to full power. Can the last remaining Voorheeses survive long enough to finally send Jason to hell for good?
Featuring fan favourite Kane Hodder as Jason and spectacular special effects by industry legends Howard Berger, Robert Kurtzman and Greg Nicotero of KNB EFX Group, Jason Goes to Hell is a madcap entry in one of the most lasting and entertaining franchises of all time!

5.0 out of 5 stars A guilty pleasure
Verified PurchaseGather 'round, fellow connoisseurs of cinematic… choices. You thought you knew pain? You thought you knew terror? Try experiencing Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday in pristine, unadulterated 4K! Arrow Video, you absolute mad lads, what have you done?!
This isn't just a movie anymore; it's a fever dream rendered in excruciatingly beautiful detail. Every questionable practical effect, every baffling plot twist, every bizarre body-swapping sequence – it all pops off the screen with a clarity that will make you question your life decisions and possibly the very fabric of reality. Did I need to see the glistening, unholy birth of the demon worm in such exquisite definition? Probably not. Am I glad I did? Absolutely.
The black levels are so deep, they could swallow a teenager on Spring Break. The colors (what few there are, mostly brown and slightly less brown) are shockingly vibrant. You'll catch nuances in the set dressing you never noticed before, like that one piece of fake foliage that clearly came from a Party City Halloween aisle.
If you're a glutton for punishment, a completist who thrives on absurdity, or just someone who enjoys a truly baffling viewing experience elevated by an insane transfer, then Jason Goes to Hell on 4K is your holy grail. Just be prepared for your brain to do a few loops trying to process the sheer audacity of it all. It's so bad, it's good, and now it's so good-looking, it's... still bad, but oh so glorious. My only regret is I don't have enough brain cells left to truly appreciate it. 10/10 for making me question everything!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good 4K but don't expect miracles
Verified PurchaseI will say this Jason/Hell 4K from Arrow is an improvement over the previous SF blu ray but it's not going to be a revelation either. This transfer does seem a lot more accurate in color grade compared to the blu ray, which was a bit of revisionist tinkering, this looks closer to the DVD color grade which the makers have stated looked closer to what they intended the film to look. There's a lot of detail here but maybe not a huge amount more than what SF did because they nailed their transfer pretty well, it can't really look that much better than that. I do think the HDR10 really makes the colors here shine and have a lot more depth which it should but again not groundbreaking. This 4K is merely for hardcore fans only of this movie. The audio is pretty much the same as the last release as far as I can tell and there's no new Atmos, so the audio is lacking if you're a 4K audio enthusiast. You get a few new features here with all the old but still, nothing to get too excited about. The packaging is great for a non-chunky box. For fans only.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 4K transfer
Verified PurchaseThis review does not speak to the quality of the movie itself, but rather of how this 30-year-old movie looks and sounds in 2025. This 4K transfer is fantastic. The HDR make this movie look like it was shot last week. The sound is punchy and goes loud. As a 4K movie collector, I was seriously surprised how well this transfer came out. It's better picture quality then half the stuff that came out this year.
As for the movie itself, this one really is for hardcore fans of the series or genre, as it is one of, if not THE worst in the franchise.
