My truck has only a single 12v socket on the dashboard above the console which is great for something like a dashcam but for other accessories it means a cable hanging down in the way of the controls on the dash. I needed to install a wireless toad brake controller a bit lower down on the dash and did not want the big ugly cable running up across everything so I utilized one of the many USB-C outlets in my truck to power it using this adapter. It works just fine for that accessory (keeping in mind that it's a pretty low amperage device) but use caution on the amp ratings as this will be drawing off your USB-C ports in your vehicle which will have limits. I expect even if I try to plug in a bunch of USB-C stuff in the truck with this connected I will encounter some challenges with the overall capacity of the trucks USB-C amperage output so I might actually plug in a small usb-C wall wart in the 120v inverter plug, which is also down low and then connect this to that. At some point though I'll probably have to take the plunge and install dedicated 12v cigarette lighter style outlets under my dash, but for now this will get me up and running without too much fuss.
