    We had this shower seat installed during a bathroom renovation. We changed the tub/shower to a walk-in shower and had the walls taken back to the studs so were able to add structural horizontal wood blocking between the studs before re-drywalling and re-tiling the walls. So there was a solid backing to screw the bracket for the shower seat into the wall. Rated for 440 lb. I am 190 lb. and it takes my weight fine. Folds up out of the way nicely. It is easy to remove from the bracket for cleaning, if and when needed.

    I decided to get this product because I wanted some kind of chair for my entrance that didn’t take too much space. The reason is that my girlfriend needs to sit down when putting or taking off her shoes because of her disability. This looked like it could work perfectly for my use case.

    Included in the package is the fold down seat itself, a wall mount, screws and anchor, and an instruction manual. When not in use, the seat folds back onto itself, which is great since you don’t have to do it yourself.

    The installation process is very easy. You install the wall mount with the included screws and simply slide the seat on the mount. The only thing I’m a bit worried about is that all of the screws are pretty close to each other, which could have been distributed over a larger area for better anchoring.

    All in all, it works great and I highly recommend it if you plan on adapting your shower or any kind of room.
