- Reviewed in Canada on October 3, 2023Another good story in the InvestiGators series. Artwork is, as always, enjoyable and clear so you know who is who from start to finish. The mystery was fun and not as predictable - there was a definite twist - as some of the previous books in the series. I have not found the other spin off series as enjoyable, so I was happy to be back with the original crew as they sorted out the disappearance of the cruise ship. There are so many puns that it can be a little much at times, but I suspect that kids would not catch all of them, and they and the malapropisms are definitely used as teachable moments for early and developing readers. You don't have to have read the other books in the series to be able to pick up this one and enjoy it, but they definitely build off of each other in more than just the footnotes way. If you have read the other books, this was another great addition and probably the one that I enjoyed the most to date. Maybe it's because I have finally settled into the style of storytelling and the puns, and that I know the characters better as well as their competencies and incompetencies. I don't want to spoil anything but C-ORB played a more prominent role here, which was long awaited and much deserved. I think that he was my favourite part of this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 4 and 6 year old love this series
Verified PurchaseMy two boys love this book series. It's funny, has great drawings and pictures, and keeps them entertained. They've really enjoyed reading a chapter each night for bedtime. It helps they're silly, but have a good story behind it.
