I purchased the Insta360 Pocket Printer to use with my Insta360 Ace Pro 2, and in terms of connectivity, the experience was seamless. The printer paired quickly, and the app integration worked smoothly without any connection issues.

However, there are several drawbacks that made me reconsider keeping it.

First, the printer requires proprietary Insta360 photo paper. You are locked into buying their official paper, and each pack only includes 10 sheets. This makes the cost per print quite high. There are cheaper photo paper alternatives available in the market, but with this printer, you have no option, you must depend on Insta360 regardless of the price. Over time, this becomes expensive and feels like a waste of money.

Another major limitation is that you can only print photos taken directly with an Insta360 camera. If you try to print photos taken from another camera or device, it’s essentially useless, the printer does not support them. This makes the printer very restrictive and limits its practical use.

Lastly, I was disappointed with the print quality. I used all the paper with high-quality photos taken using the Ace Pro 2 on good camera settings, but the printed results were not as expected. The clarity and color output did not match the original image quality, which is disappointing considering the premium price.

Overall, although the printer is well-designed and connects flawlessly within the Insta360 ecosystem, the expensive proprietary paper, limited compatibility, and average print quality make it hard to justify the cost. Because of these reasons,
