I've been on the hunt for a simple IFTTT controllable 10A outlet with a built-in temperature sensor, that is able to send threshold alarms and enable / disable the outlet.
I have not found a solution for anywhere near the price of this unit.
Simple and easy to use, take a look on YouTube for a video example: it will take you 2-3 minutes to set this up to do whatever it is you need.
In my case, I built a highly insulated shed that needs a 500W heater turned on 1-4 times per day (based on the outdoor temperature / overall heatloss!) for 1 hour to keep the contents above 8°C. This little unit works perfectly!
The unit did need temperature calibration out of the box, it was reading exactly 1.0°C high, but the unit allows easy compensation to read accurately. The thermocouple does have quite a bit of thermal mass bonded to it, in my use case that's fine: I want the mass of the sensor to lag the actual air temperature by a few seconds / minutes to help average out the indoor space temp.
Overall 10/10: perfect little heating controller for light loads; I would not personally run a heating load all the way up to 10A on this unit, it just doesn't have the mass to support such a claim. I'm sure it can _technically_ do 10A for short periods, but to prevent any risks or issues, I'd absolutely keep the load under 6-7A resistive loads max. If you're trying to run a (not remotely rated for!) 120VAC 1.5kW heater on this thing: you're going to melt it for sure.

After my Vonshef water oven and my Gourmia immersion circulator pod started getting flaky, I bought the Inkbird ITC-308 and paired it with the Hamilton Beach 33155 5-Quart Portable Slow Cooker I had in the pantry as the sous vide rig.
In my initial setup and test I find that the Inkbird works properly. I read enough of the PDF instructions to familiarize myself with the configuration operation and find this unit really easy to setup, referring to the straight-forward parameter chart with each step. I pressed the 'set' key for 3 seconds to enter the config menu, pressing the 'set' button to step through the parameters, adjusting each as needed using the 'up' & 'down' arrow keys. To save settings when I was satisfied I again pressed the 'set' key for 3 seconds, until the current and set temperatures were displayed. Done!
I began with a setting of 140 degrees F (my most common sous vide cooking temp) on the Inkbird, and the crock set to high heat. I plugged in the crock pot to the 'Heat' receptacle of the Inkbird PID. The temp probe fit nicely through the vent hole in the lid of the crock (see photo). As soon as the crock pot reached 140, the heat light turned off and power to the crock was removed. The crock overshot by a degree and the cool indicator illuminated, so I turned down the crock to its Keep Warm setting and continued to monitor. I found that the crock now stays between 139 and 141 (see photo).
This $38 Inkbird PID seems to do exactly what the $99 Dorkfood controller was intended to do, for a fraction of the price, and so far does so adequately and reliably for my purposes.
