    The blocks work as intended. They are so big, we really can’t functionally use them in the dry bags to keep things cold. They have smaller versions for that.
    The thing that isn’t spoken about is the fact that the cooler should be precooled for these to do their best work. Meaning add some ice in your cooler the night before to cool it down. Add the ice packs to the cooler when you’re about to head out and you’re adding the drinks and additional ice. I emphasize that you want your food/drinks to be cold already before adding them to your cooler. This is the only way that these will help you stretch your ice. If you’re going to be out somewhere all day, this is what these were made for. Keep the cooler in shade and keep it closed as much as possible, and they will save the ice all day long. If you keep opening your cooler however, it’s going to greatly limit your temperature control.
