Unit is solidly built and comes almost fully assembled .... depending on your physical ability, you might require an extra set of hands to help install the lift arm. It is heavy, and took two 鶹 delivery guys to bring it into our unit.
Keep in mind that this is a manual lift, so while the lifting action speed is dictated by the pumping action, the lowering speed is regulated by the pressure relief valve ... fully open, patient drops quickly. I usually just open the release valve just enough for her to drop slowly, so I can also guide her into her final location.
I use it to move wife from bed to wheelchair, from transfer chair to tub, and from wheelchair to recliner. Other than in the bathroom, the floors where used are carpeted. Moving forward or backwards on carpet is fairly easy, due to the large wheels, but it does take a bit of an effort to turn it when she is on it. Might be important to know: PSW's can move it back and forth, but can't turn it when she's on it to put her back on the bed. Our bed is 28" high, and she just clears it enough to get her on and off (this will vary depending on the lift sling you use).
