    I would have rated this new cutting head 5-stars if it was designed as a fast reload. Installing was quite simple and taking on and off is very quick and easy. This spool will hold 28 feet of line which is much better than the quick refill unit that came with the Dewalt unit. Difference is that this spool release uses a nice solid plastic point that does not wear through like the quick Dewalt refills. Looks like I will buy a 2nd unit soas to carry it with me for an Inservice refill, as I have a large acreage with VERY nasty weeds. Great product and thanks to my AI support, was a great upgrade choice.

    I bought a dewalt flexvolt snipper & the line was so weak & wouldn't self feed.

    This snipper head is on another level. So much thicker & more powerful. the self feed function works well.

    I found respooling very easy.

    The plastic bumper will wear out eventually but you can buy spares.

    My advice is don't hold it down too close to brick pavers or bump it on hard surfaces. Just tap it on the grass if you need more line & take it back to the bricks.
