Admittedly, we have always struggled with one side of the fitted sheet pulling off from the deep mattress, no matter how well we try to tuck it under. While these aren't foolproof, they do add a bit more of a security to keeping things in place. I won't say they were overly difficult to install; even though there are no instructions included it isn't that difficult to figure out, if maybe a bit awkward trying to lift up the mattress and attach everything. All that remains visible is a see-through plastic strip, so the big ugly corner pieces are hidden beneath the sheets. These work far better than those stupid diagonal strap things (which I also admit to having tried in the past).
