Test fountain pens before regular use
The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River / Tomoe River S paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.

I love my little Hobonichi!! Its the perfect size for a beginner at journaling as you dont need to commit to a a full page of writing per day. The paper is great quality, super thin but doesnt bleed through with tombow markers, energel pens, or mildliners. I use the monthly pages for planning and the dailies for journaling

This is a first for me. I opened my package to find a purple sticky goo that looks just like grape jelly on the envelope the notebook is in. Luckily its not on the notebook itself thats why I decided to keep it. Usually I like to keep the envelope too but gross! I gave five stars because I know the Hobonichi planner itself is great and Im happy to use it.
