1.0 out of 5 stars Wildly varying results. Unreliable and worrying
Verified PurchaseI purchased this as an upgrade from twice-daily readings using an Omron X7 Smart device, which appeared to be producing accurate readings. The reading from the Hilo cuff on the first calibration was 40% higher than from Omron taken at the same time. The subsequent wristband readings were consistent with this high initialisation, with little variance, despite other checks showing much lower figures.
Since then, over a week, I have performed many recalibrations and, in most cases, the Hilo cuff is consistent with Omron, although invariably 15% higher. However, the wrist measurements have remained sky-high, night and day, and I have absolutely no confidence in them.
This is a pity because the concept is excellent. I realise that the wrist measurements are an extrapolation of the cuff calibrations, but this inconsistency is worrying.
As a one-off example, the Omron X7 Smart readings averaged 111/71. The Hilo cuff returned 119/69. I recalibrated the band at 119/69, but subsequent readings still averaged 150/80. Recalibrations had no effect on the figures.
In desperation, I “forgot” the device on my iPhone Bluetooth but then found that there is no pairing button on the band or charger, which means I can no longer paid the band. This was the point of no return for me.
I have tried to speak to someone to discuss this, but there appears to be no human support. All I see is a list of typical questions that are not helpful in this case. I have now returned this device as not fit for purpose.
Apart from the operational problems, the wristband is showing consistently very high readings which are at odds with the cuff and third-party monitors. This could seriously worry someone who is not familiar with blood pressure monitors. Shown to a doctor, these figures could result in dangerous over medication.
Incidentally, the Hilo was recommended by my cardiologist on a recent consultation and I have shared my findings with her.

5.0 out of 5 stars This product really works.
Verified PurchaseMy story is I have inherited hypertension. I'm on medication to control it but it apparently isn't working very well. Or is it? If I go the the Doctors then my BP goes up. If they measure my BP then I'm so nervous of a bad reading then this makes it worse. So how do I answer these questions? Well I hope this device does that. First appraisal of the device is, it works! It was easy to set up on my Android phone. Pair the device and the cuff. Then follow the instructions on the App to calibrate the system. Very well designed user experience.
I'm fretting that my BP is being measured, and it's high, which makes me fret more. However, the numbers are pretty well what the normal, automatic machine reports. So I hope to get used to it being on my wrist and then see what my BP really is.
I have two choices. Ignore the situation and wait for something nasty to happen. Alternatively be proactive, monitor the problem, and help the Doc help me. I chooses the latter. Thanks to this product I now have the tools to do that. Worth every penny when you look at it like that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn’t work for me 😢
Verified PurchaseBought this item with great anticipation that I would have 24/7 monitoring of my blood pressure.
It was easy to set up once both items were charged by following the guide.
I set up the measurement schedule and ensured that the wrist device was connected to my phone by Bluetooth and to the app.
Nothing happened although I ensured my wrist ( and that the Hilo was connected) and phone were within 30cm of each other at the scheduled times. I am bitterly disappointed.
Also the devise needs to be in range of the phone at the scheduled times which wouldn’t always be possible when a busy person.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great first impressions - but I can’t wear next to watch. FAQ solved concern about gaps in readings.
Verified PurchaseReassuring!
Early days (just 60 hours of “continuous” monitoring). Excellent, so far (it’s a 2 part system - wrist sensor for continuous wear; their traditional cuff for periodic pairing and data validation).
Been using standard cuff machine, for some years, but last couple of months with elevated spot readings.
This system periodically monitors your BP from a simple wrist band sensor (46 times, so far).
App displays history of each reading and summarises into simple to understand daily / weekly / monthly averages (after a couple of weeks will also show trends).
An initial concern was gaps in daily readings. Sensor works without any sensation or visible LED etc. looking at App there were several hours elapsed without reading. But FAQ show that readings taken during periods of relative calm / inactivity thus day time readings tend to be less frequent.
Only minor comments that sensor band doesn’t fit easily along side a watch - I need to wear on opposite arm. Band itself is simple Matt black strap with chrome fastenings. Not particularly aesthetic - but in this case, its function over form.
