How do you get the wicks to stick to the bottom?
You can add a little wax or tape to the bottom of the wick in order for it to properly stick to the container.
At what temperature should I add my wax and dyes?
180° F degrees is the best temperature to add wax and dyes, once it is fully mixed in together, lower it to 150° F before pouring. **Note: When adding scents and dyes to your candles, please be aware that a large ratio of scents/dyes to the wax can influence the burning effectiveness, causing smoke and reducing the ability of your candles to stay lit.**
What is the ideal fragrance load for XmL?
The amount of fragrance you will use in your candles will depend on 3 factors: (1) The strength of the scent (2) The type of wax (3) The flash point of the fragrance oil (when it evaporates). When calculating the fragrance load, it should be determined by weight, not by volume. For example, if you are making a 16 oz. candle with a wax that has a maximum 10% fragrance load, you could add up to 1.6 oz. (16 oz. * 10% = 1.6 oz.) of fragrance for that particular wax.
What will happen if too much fragrance is added?
While it is possible to add more fragrance than the manufacturer's recommendation, this can lead to poor burning characteristics and/or the fragrance ‘seeping’ from the candle creating the appearance of sweating.
What temperature should I add the fragrance oil?
Usually with 100% natural waxes you want to melt your candle wax to 185 degrees and then add your fragrance oil at 175-185. This ensures that the oil mixes well with the wax. If you add it when it’s too cool, it will not mix with the wax very well.

Make Unique and Vibrant Candles
Only .02 – .06 oz of dye is needed to fully color 1 pound of candle wax. This amount is enough to give candles bright, vivid colors. Depending on the type of wax, the colors may finish differently.
- Measure out the amount of candle wax dye you need & set aside
- Heat your choice of raw wax to its required temperature
- Once the temperature reaches about 160 – 180 degrees °F, add the dye chips & stir evenly
- Stir thoroughly for 2-3 minutes to properly disperse
