- Reviewed in Canada on August 13, 2022Verified PurchaseI had no problem using this cutter. It worked very well. 2 clean cuts on either side of the ring and pulled the two parts away from my finger. I could not find any jeweller or health care professional that could help me get the ring off. I would recommend this cutter.
- Reviewed in Canada on September 2, 2022Verified PurchaseThis tool works very well. No harm to the finger. You need a strong grip to apply pressure and turn the wheel. Cuts very thin kerf. We used a heavy string to help pull the sides apart without scratching the finger.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 3, 2022Verified PurchaseWe will always have this in first aid kit. A finger injury caused swelling and the ring came off quickly with this. Without it, wouldve been hours in the emergency in agony.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 21, 2025Verified PurchaseUsed to cut a ring off a finger. It worked but some teeth got bent over and the spacing feels to course. As you turn the handle to spin the blade against the 14k gold ring it was rough and jumpy. Had to use more pressure than I thought it would take. Blade isn't usable after so the 4* instead of 5. Higher tooth count I think would smooth it out with a better quality metal. Also no instructions on how to change the blade, so now kinda stuck.
- Reviewed in Canada on June 1, 2022Verified PurchaseMy wedding ring was stuck on my finger for almost 20 years and now Im free to get it resized and maybe an upgrade???
It was super easy to use and only to a minute to remove the rings!
Everyone should have this tool in case of an emergency!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Well
Verified PurchaseThis worked well and quick. Several turns and it cut through this platinum ring. This was a last resort. I hadnt been able to remove my ring for years. Definitely worth the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars It worked!
Verified PurchaseI had a surgery coming up and needed to remove my wedding ring set that has been stuck on my finger for several years. My husbands wedding band has been stuck also, so he decided to give it a try, too. It did take the two of us to work the appliance most effectively and it took a minute or two of several steady turns, but we were successful! My husbands band took a little extra because of the size and ridges on the band, but it did cut through. Quality build, functioned well with accuracy. The blade stayed sharp enough to cut through 3 separate bands in a timely manner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works, but use caution
Verified PurchaseThe media could not be loaded.
At first glance, this tool looked intimidating and, frankly, dangerous (keep out of reach of children), but I didn't want to go to the fire department to have it sawn off before surgery. I figured, if this didn't work, I'd head there, but I wanted to save the embarrassment and try myself first. It took a helper (my husband) to work the can-opener like saw, while I held it in place. You'll want to keep your hand open flat to avoid contact with the saw. It also was NOT easy to pry my thick band with pliers, so I needed to saw my two rings in two to pull off closer to my palm, vs sliding over my knuckle. PSA: YOUR RING WILL BE SHARP, as it was just sawn by metal, so your band may cut your skin, as you can see it did mine. It will also leave "gold dust", from grinding the gold down. Overall, it only took less than a minute per ring and saved me a trip to the FD. Win win. Now to get my rings resized after the swelling goes down in a few days.
