It works
When you first open the box there appears to,be a lot of hardware. Don’t worry, most of it is the same, it took me 5-6 hours to get them installed but I’m slow and deliberate. That and having the right tools makes a big difference. Your type of unit also makes a big difference. You need a cross frame piece at the front and two frames, one on either side. You also need a cross frame piece at the rear. I didn’t have one on the rear and had to have a 2” piec of angle iron about 30” long welded onto the rear hitch on my trailer. You will need 1/8” or so drill, bit, 5/16 drill bit and a 3/8” drill bit. You will also need cutting liquid or you will ruin several drill bits as I did. You will also want a 3/8” tap with 16 ridges to the inch. The self-tap bolts don’t self-tap. The 5/16 hole is perfect for the tap bit. I also got a reamer which made getting the holes to the right size much easier. The Bolts on my scissor Jack were much smaller than the replacement bolts needed to mount the Armstrongs. Aside from boring out the holes, the drill bits get stuck, hence the need for the reamer. There is also a piece in the scissor Jack that bridges the two bolts and keeps the two sides of the Jack more ridged. That piece also needed to be removed and the holes made larger. As they are semi-circles, the reamer didn’t work. Enter a dremel with a grinding bit. Slow work but got the holes to the right size. A ratchet set and box wrenches also help getting all of the bolts off and on quickly. So, all in all, it can be a faster job if you have the right tools or if your trailer doesn’t need as many modifications. Oh, yes, I also borrowed the neighbours creeper which meant sliding around beneath the trailer frame much easier. Not necessarily more comfortable. Also, I used safety glasses, they tend to fog up but better than iron filing in the eye. My wife is very happy with the results, so it was worth the aggravation.

I installed these on our 24' bunk model after a season of waking up if the kids moved too much. Should have done this last year!! Only issue was my cheap scissor jacks had 5/16" bolts so I had to enlarge the holes for the 3/8" eye bolts. The trailer is so solid and they are permanently installed (nothing to store). They are heavy duty, 50 pounds worth! They could definitely be lighter but are very worth it.

Delivery was quick and product value is quite good. Components and hardware provided are of good quality. Installation is more elaborate than anticipated, however. Hi-speed steel bits, lubricating products and a tapping kit were required, in addition to other standard tools (ratchet, drill, personal protective equipment, etc.), patience and a little creativity.

My travel-trailer (33-ft Passport Ultra-Light) has an insulated underbelly which means I do not have access to cross section steel frames as is required for optimal installation. Instruction manual is ok at best, but, when prompted to call JT technical support (Lippert Components Inc.), I spoke with Vance (after several tries and waiting some time on the phone) who promptly informed me that I could install my front stabilizers to the A-Frame portion of my trailer. In doing so, my front stabilizers would no longer be mounted at 90 degrees from one another (you install 2 on each side at the front, 1 on each side at the back, for a total of 6), but rather at a 20-degree angle, at best. To my amazement, quality components telescope, pivot and move quite well when moving my scissor jacks up or down. Although the "triangulation" is done, this limited angle probably doesn't really help so much with side-to-side stabilization, however. An option could have been to install a cross steel beam at the front portion of my trailer (this is more expensive, more work and adds additional weight) which I chose not to do. All in all, my travel trailer is indeed much more stable and the JT's Strong Arm Jack Stabilizer kit did what it promised. I notice a big difference when stepping in or out of the trailer. I did have to move my steel propane gas conduit an inch or so out of the way (at the front and back of my trailer, on one side) to allow for enough of the steel chassis to drill into. An online video of how to deal with possible installation obstacles would have been appreciated. The installation video available of the jacks on a bare frame is nice, but not nearly representative of my experience. I do recommend this product, but make sure you are patient, handy and creative. Happy RV'ing.

The best is to watch a U Tube video on how to install a lot easier then trying to figure out from the instruction due to the different applications with scissor jacks and trailer frames.

Arrived and was disappointed that is was yellow in colour, not gray as listed in the description. This may not be a big deal to some, but I find bright coloured accessories to be gaudy on an otherwise attractive looking trailer. Also, some of the paint was chipped and dinged on the bars. This is likely due to the poor packaging and lack of foam/styrofoam used inside of the box.

Followed the instructions to the letter. It calls for a total of 6 spacer mounts but the kit only comes with 4. I called Lippert to point this out and they want an additional $16USD each for the two additional spacers I need. Did a bit of a work around and ended up getting it installed without the parts I needed. Once installed, it works okay. The homemade system (4 4 foot 2x4s, 2 ratchet straps, and four eye bolts) I was using before works a lot better. Google 2x4 rv stabilizer and save your money.

We use these stabilizer bars on our electric-motor RV stabilizers. Real easy to install once we looked at other online posts of installations (no instructions - looked at pictures of other folks who bought this and posted how they did it).

These are HIGH QUALITY solid stabilizer bars. Comes with all the hardware you need. I would recommend the manufacturer send self-drilling screws (would make a quick installation even quicker), but my electric drill did the trick.

    Overall, very satisfied.

Don’t stress out about the installation! Just read through the instructions then use common sense to install on your particular RV. We had to make a few modifications to make it work but it’s not hard, really! Just make sure you have the proper clearance to open & close your stabilizers and you’re good. This does take some time to install due to drilling and such so allow yourself the afternoon. They are definitely worth the work! Our RV is much more stable, although there is still some minimal movement. We set up, tighten the arms and then tighten the stabilizers just a bit more to get the best results. If we stay somewhere long term we check level and tighten the arms up again if needed as the ground sometimes settles under the RV. Overall very easy to use and we highly recommend!

I have a 314bds Eagle Superlite Travel.Trailer, and this was the best investment I have installed my my camper. Our trailer used to rock and sway whenever someone walked around. My 10 year old son would roll over in the back of the camper when sleeping, and we would feel it in the front of the camper. Since installing the JT Strongarm system on our camper, 95% of the movement is gone! The package was shipped in original box, complete with all hardware and instructions. The only problem I had with the install, was with the self tapping bolts. I tried for an hour to get the bolts to start and was unable to. I went to hardware store, bought a T Handle and a Tap, and the installation was then a breeze. I looked at these a few years ago, and didn't want to spend the money, thinking it was too much money. What a mistake that was! These are well worth the money and would recommend to anyone with a camper. It takes an extra 2 minutes when setting up camp, but a rock solid camper your vacation!

5.0 out of 5 stars Does What It's Supposed to
Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2025

My order came double-boxed and the kit inside the inner box was cushioned with styrofoam, so it is packaged well. The kit from 鶹 does not come with any instructions whatsoever, but I'm still giving the product 5 stars, because that has nothing to do with Lippert or JT's Strong Arms and everything to do with 鶹.

You can find the instructions fairly easily online. Just search for JT's Strong Arms installation instructions and they'll pop up. You can also watch YouTube videos. There are a number of them out there.

Installation requires you to be somewhat handy. You will need to tap new threads in your trailer frame, because the self-tapping bolts that are included with the kit will NOT self-tap into the steel frame. Make sure you have some good quality, sharp drill bits to drill your pilot holes. Mine were not very sharp and took me a while to finally break through. That's on me though. I'd say getting the pilot holes drilled and the threads tapped was by far the hardest part of the whole install. Getting all the hardware bolted together to get the supports ready to install is also pretty time consuming. The whole job should probably take you about two to three hours if you have all the tools ready.

The product does exactly what it says it will do. It removes almost all motion inside the trailer from people moving around. It does not take all the motion out, but I'd say it does away with about 90% of it and that's good enough for me. If you go into with that expectation, you won't be disappointed.
