I recently added this Haobase continuity tester to my toolbox for diagnosing minor car electrical issues, and it’s turned out to be one of those tools that punches well above its price. Simple, efficient, and surprisingly robust, it’s now a regular in my kit when working on my car, motorbike, or even 12V household circuits.
The tester works with DC systems from 6V to 24V, which covers most car, truck, and motorbike applications. I used it recently to track down a dodgy earth connection in my trailer light wiring, and it saved me hours of guesswork. The bright indicator light makes it very easy to see whether current is present, even in daylight or awkward angles.
The pen-style design is convenient — lightweight, easy to hold, and small enough to get into tight engine bay corners or under dashboards. The sharp tip pierces wires cleanly for testing without needing to strip insulation, and the crocodile clip is solid with a nice long lead for reaching ground points comfortably.
Build quality is decent — plastic casing with a little flex, but strong enough for general workshop use. The metal tip is durable and hasn’t dulled or bent, even after repeated use. The indicator bulb is bright and clearly visible, and the connection wire hasn’t frayed or split.
The tool is simple to use, even for beginners: clip the alligator to earth, probe the circuit with the tip, and check the light. I’ve used it on car fuses, brake light wiring, battery terminals, and even caravan sockets, and it’s been accurate every time.
One thing to note is that it’s a basic tester — you won’t get digital readouts or voltage levels. But for continuity testing, finding live wires, or checking fuse function, it’s absolutely perfect.
Only small improvement I’d suggest is including a case or sleeve for storage, but it’s compact enough to live happily in a drawer or toolkit without getting damaged.
In short, if you’re working on vehicles or need a simple electrical diagnostic tool, this Haobase tester is excellent value. Quick, reliable, and easy to use — a proper handy bit of kit. Recommended for any DIY mechanic or vehicle owner.
