If you read my other reviews, you may notice I'm on a bit of a simplicity kick. I'm tired of devices that do a million things and take up a bunch of space in your brain learning how to use things you really don't care about. (Yes, apparently I am "old man yelling at cloud").
I selected this kettle because it was smaller (1L capacity) to fit on my counter, and it just boiled water. No different temperatures for black tea, herbal tea, coffee etc. It boils water. If you want all those features, don't choose this kettle.
The brand name is good, too. I didn't recognize the brand names on a lot of the fancier kettles, and I didn't want to buy something that might break in a few months. (If this breaks in a few months, I'll review my review).
Ultimately why did I choose this particular kettle? The colour. Yup. The red looks nice on my counter.
