The scoop is too small, unless you like a thin burger. But we still use it to help portions - buy round paper separaters and large ziplock bags to make the process easier. - place paper round, then burger meat, then paper round, then plastic round, then use tool to squish first burger - repeat next layer with paper, then burger meat, then paper, then plastic... continue this process till you fill the tube. - get a friend to help briefly, first separate the bottom of the tube, hold the tube on either side, then have your helper use the squisher tool to push all the burgers through the tube so you have a squished burger stack. - now with your larger freezer bag ready, carefully separate each burger, removing the paper rounds too, then place 4 separated burgers into the bag not touching. - repeat with the next freezer bag, then place those flat burger bag into freezer. - reuse all of the papers etc for the next tube of burgers and have your volunteer help you push them through the tube at the end to repeat the process. - we make ours in bulk so we end up with a half dozen plus of these freezer bags with 4 burgers each. - once frozen, and you're cooking up the burgers... as we empty each bag, we immediately take the plastic bags and store them back in the freezer for next to reuse.
This fit about 2 lbs worth of burgers. Worked great! What a lifesaver when making a big batch. It did pop through the bottom once, but maybe I was pushing too hard…
It makes the perfect sized Burger Patties which was always difficult to do by Hand. It’s well worth it. It’s made by Star Frit so you know it’s going to be good quality for the Price
I always wanted to have one, ever since I was younger, bought it last week and I was not disappointed, easy to use, easy to clean, there is a small scoop to make small patty and there is also a scale on the pot, so you can get patty of at least 1/4, 1/3 meat patty but you can do your own to have even more meat, when I cooked the patty they stayed all round and firm, so all around a good product.
I ordered this press because I liked the idea that you could just pop the burger out from the bottom, but when I used I found that each time I pressed down for the next burger that the one on the bottom got flatter and flatter, so by the time I was done the bottom one was only half the size of the rest, which became ticker and thicker because the lines did not match up.
I did like the idea of it but ended up returning as proportions were never the same.
Haven’t used yet! But seems pretty good! The plastic is thick and the lid and bottom too! The only thing I’m concerned about is that there is a bump on each divider, don’t really care for that? It’s a bit widder than the one I have already. I like that I can freeze this whole unit! That’s nice! I may have to n Buy another one!
