The brackets that connect to the ground spikes are very weak, just putting them into the ground with any pressure bents them easily - also NOT really any good unless you are in a VERY small enclosed area, just not strong enough. If you wanted them for very slight black light ambiance they would probably be adequate.

These are rated at 16 Watts and a wavelength of 395-400nm making them unusually bright UVA or "black light" spots for illuminating a large area with diffuse UV light.

The effect is pretty fantastic. They would really complement a Halloween display and they would be useful for parties and other types of display involving fluorescent objects.

The get a little bit warm, but the housing is well constructed to dissipate heat.

They come with spikes to mount them in grass or soil so you can point them at a display on your lawn or at the wall of your house.

The documentation says that they can be plugged into an AC source of 85-360V, so that makes them useful pretty much anywhere in the world.

The cord is kind of short for them, so you will need a power bar or a cord that has 2 plug-in holes to get these out far enough to make an effect on the house/display.

But - they're really cool if you display them on white ghosts in a tree or skeletons. They're not super powerful, but they'll get the job done.

At the time of this review, these black lights were $39.99 and I think that's a bit pricey considering the strength and lack of solar, but worth picking up if they come on sale.

As these are black lights they dont provide much in the way of illumination but they do make anything that is bright white glow in a very cool way. Keep in mind that things that like white but are more cream or off white do not get the same impact. I found them to be more effective in a dark space indoors as they are fairly small and each need a power source to plug into. They work okay outdoors when aimed directly at white items in your display (ghost; skeleton etc.) I think they are pricey.

These black lights put out a large amount of UV light. Of course, black lights obviously are not bright to the naked eye but when you turn the lights off and get black light reactive things near them, they really pop. I've gotten quite a few of these for our Halloween show I think a total of 12 now, so it's gonna look great outside. I did test one of these outside and even though it looks like it's barely on it throws that UV light out really far.

I have many blacklights because I am a home haunter. The two lights that arrived are built solidly. The housings and stakes are metal.

While I haven't measured the footprint of the lights, I can say one would be plenty to light a medium size prop.

I feel like they missed two opportunities to make a stellar product.
1) The lights are missing a power switch/rocker.
2) A remote or app would have been incredible......missed opportunity.
