  • First, ensure that the Pump is securely attached with a strong suction. Using a warm compress, pumping in the shower, pumping first thing in the morning, and gently massaging your breast, are all easy ways you can stimulate more milk to be expressed!

  • Maybe suction too strong. Try to just lightly squeeze the base and attach to your breast making sure your nipple is in the centre of the pump and not touching the sides of the Pump. The more air gets squeezed out, the stronger the suction will be.

  • Make a paste of baking soda and water, rub it all over the Pump and then soak it in a 50-50 mixture of white vinegar and warm water for about 30-60min. Then clean your pump thoroughly with warm soapy water. Finally, boiling in hot water for 2-3 mins.

  • If a mom has a larger amount of breast milk or larger breasts that require a breast pump with more suction, we recommend trying the 150ml/5oz Haakaa Breast Pump. Larger capacity, stronger suction, and has a upgrade suction base for stand steadily.

  • The easiest time to express milk using a breast pump is in the morning! For the rest of the day, it’s best to express 30 mins to 1 hr after feeding your bub. You can also catch let-down with Haakaa from the other breast while your baby is feeding.

    I was using it to catch drippings from the other side of breasts, it works as advertised. The silicon quality seems good, suction is strong.

    My problems were, the suction hurts so bad. I could not stand the pain, I could not really use this product.

    Also, it is head heavy, which means it gets knocked out so easily. I put this on a table, and I hold the table to stand up after feeding, this product trips and spill all the milk on the table.

    I bet it works for other people, for me, it was too painful.

    As a first time mom I found out about this a lil late. Im glad I did find it though! I was having lots of let down in initial days postpartum and would leak on one side while breastfeeding on the other. This would have saved me some uncomfortable messes and lots of laundry! I got 90ml the first time I used it. However, I read lots about the dangers of relying on it too much and wasnt really able to figure out how to use it as a hand pump. It also falls off easily when it fills or looses grip so you need to be careful while using it! I did see you can buy this with a stand or a cover which I wish I noticed before. The lid for it would have been nice since it collects dust like crazy! I have to wash it right before using it always because its caught lint

    These didn’t work for me. My friend raved about them so much and I’ve read so many great reviews that I doubled down and got two (as my friend also mentioned how she got one for back up). Found out I was using it wrong initially, got excited all over again after learning how to use it properly, but even then it would only draw out half my output in twice the duration. I really wanted these to work but now they’re just sitting in the drawer taking up space. Tempted to just chuck them now, but what a waste.

    I bought this manual pump to increase my supply. After reading many reviews, I was hopeful to ditch my electric pump. The silicone cup is comfortable and easy to apply. I used heat and massage to encourage let-down, however after 40 minutes (20 on each side), I only had an out-put of 25ml. After 10 minutes on each side I did switch to the more intense suction as well which helped, but not enough. As a first pump of the day, I was quite disappointed. I did end up using my other pump right after and produced more within 5 minutrs of use, with a total of 210ml. To add, my nipples looked a little weird from the suction as there is no flange (one-size fits all; it sucks the whole area in to squeeze the milking out) I will keep trying and will update if I see any changes.

    Ich habe mir die Hakaa Milch“pumpe“ auf Rat meiner Hebamme bestellt, um Milch aufzufangen, die beim Stillen aus der anderen Brust läuft. Bei Kind 1 habe ich nur Milchauffangschalen benutzt. Diese waren für mich keine wirkliche Option. Sie sind immer wieder beim entfernen übergelaufen, waren wackelig und instabil.
    Die Hakaa Milchpumpe ist keine tatsächliche Pumpe, da man mit ihr die Milch nicht wirklich aus der Brust pumpt. Man stellt ein Vakuum her und dadurch läuft mehr Milch als gewöhnlich aus der Brust. Das Vakuum löst sich nach gewisser Zeit und man setzt die Pumpe dann einfach wieder an. Für mich funktioniert das problemlos.
    Auch wenn die „Pumpe“ keine wirkliche Pumpe ist, ist sie für mich eine sehr gute Alternative. Der Prozess ist super unkompliziert und im Vergleich zum Pumpen mit anderen Pumpen auch viel angenehmer für mein Empfinden.
    Wenn ich parallel bei der Verwendung stille, gelingt es mir problemlos 90-100 ml Milch zu gewinnen. Und das ohne Schmerzen und viel Arbeit. Außerdem ist auch die Reinigung im Vergleich zu üblichen Milchpumpen ein Klacks. Nicht zu vergleichen. Aktuell kann ich mir gut vorstellen, dass ich in dieser Stillzeit komplett auf eine Pumpe zum pumpen verzichten kann und nur mit der Hakaa auskommen werde.
    Wie zufrieden man mit dem „Pump“Ergebnis ist, hängt vielleicht aber auch damit zusammen, wie viel Milch einem selbst sowieso beim stillen aus der Brust läuft.
    Für mich ist sie genau das Richtige und ich kann es in meinem Fall uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
