The smooth surface, unassuming box does not really look like a key lock box. If you install it in an inconspicuous place, this will be handy to hide a key in without anyone knowing. It's at least more secure than the fake garden rocks, or under a plant pot. The code is easily settable and changeable, but you can only use any one number once in your combination code. A couple of things brought it down from 5 star to 4. The smooth plastic lid is very well secured when closed over the keypad, and it takes a bit of effort to pull on it to open it so that you can access the keypad. The second thing was that the latching mechanism at the top has to be twisted to open, which should be fine for most people, however, my arthritis did not like it.

    So, I HAD to dock a star for the fact that the majority of the casing is plastic outside, with a metal "liner" inside. That, and the cover not being more secure, leading to it popping open at times.
    That said, it's actually quite solid, and the metal insides WILL keep your keys secure, although the case might get all scratched up and mangled.
    I have mine attached under my Schoolie (converted school bus), near the back bumper, where it cannot be seen, but I can access easily as needed. This lets me keep a spare set of keys handy for emergencies, and access for others in case I am unable. They are secure and always there and ready when I need them.
