What is pH? The pH is an abbreviation of 'hydrogen's potential', it tells you how acidic or basic (alkaline) a substance is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14, while it is possible to exceed these levels. The greatest pH, the measured substance is basic, the lowest pH, the more acidic the substance is. a pH of 7 is neutral a pH greater than 7 corresponds to basic water at a pH below 6 water is acidic Acidic water is dangerous, but not only for human life and also for plants. The ideal pH of pool water is between 7,2 and 7,4. Knew: pH of bleach from 12,0 to 12,6! Functionning of PH-80 tester PH-80 tester is calibrated at the factory with pH 7,0. It can be quickly and easily adjusted up to pH 4,0, pH 7,0 or pH 10,0 by using one-touch calibration. Accessoires supplied with PH-80 tester: cap batteries storage solution buffer solution pH 7,0 (for calibration).

These pens are junk !!! Bad customer service as-well. After receiving the pen I rehydrated the sensor. Then I checked the calibration . It was out . I recalibrated it . It still did not work properly. They did Warranty the pen with a replacement and had the exact same problem with the new pen !! They are both reading incorrectly and don’t hold there calibration. I feel super ripped off .

    This PH meter is one useful device, almost instant readings, and also a nicely designed. If you are looking for a PH Meter, then here is a wise choice, I bought a lower priced meter about 7 months ago, it worked for about 4 months and died. Couldn't recalibrate that meter to save my life. Very cheaply made, but this meter is of high quality, definately recommend this to anyone needing to keep track of their PH levels for whatever reasons.

    It works great, easy to use and calibrate, but was not factory calibrated (as mentioned) was out by about 0.8 ph, and only came with 1 pack of ph buffer solution powder, so you might want to look at ordering buffer solution as well. Most other cheap meters come with 4 pouches.

    Very unpleasant buying experience. Device will not power up right out of the package. So let’s change the batteries. The battery compartment is really poor for illustration of the direction of positive and negative for 3 batteries. The paper instructions are beyond poor.

    Changed batteries no power. Looking at battery compartment I notice two steel prongs that pinch the motherboard inside. One of the prongs looks like it’s not bent enough to pinch the motherboard. Sure enough I bend the prong future and presto power. Ridiculous.

    Seems to work good but only came with one calibration solution pack and did not come calibrated so you have to use it right away. Should come with a few packs or a bottle of the stuff in my opinion 🤷‍♂️ would be 5 stars if it wasnt for the fact I have to buy more of the stuff
