5.0 out of 5 stars works well - better than hand shuffle for 2 decks
Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2024
鶹 Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I've used this to shuffle a single deck. I've used it to shuffle double decks. I mixed a red and a blue deck and was surprised at what a good even shuffle it provided. It's very quick and easy to use.

To get a proper shuffle, just like a hand shuffle, you'll have to do more than one shuffle. It's a tiny bit tedious to have to pull the deck out and split it and run it through again and again.

For a 2 deck shuffle, it is easier and superior to a hand shuffle. Personally except for grandkids (too young to shuffle well) or card-sharps (players I don't trust) I am going to stick to hand shuffling.

I tried it with both poker cards (wider) and bridge cards (narrower). I got an equally good shuffle/distribution with both cards. The distribution was slightly better than my hand shuffle (I'm ok - I play cards regularly), but not enough that it's significant if you do 4 shuffles, which is quicker by hand than with the machine. I can do 4 shuffles by hand about twice as fast as I can do it in the machine, owing to the taking the deck out of the machine, splitting it, and reloading it and then hitting the shuffle button. By hand, the split and the shuffle almost happen together.

Anyway - this machine works well. I'll use it for 2 deck games, and when my young grandkids (who have trouble shuffling) are here. I'm glad I got it. It's pretty cool. Also, it's better looking than the black plastic looking ones.

My elderly mother is in a wheelchair and confined to an Assisted Living Facility. Some of the residents started a Pinochle club to fight the otherwise endless boredom. Now, my mother enjoys playing cards in general, and Pinochle in particular. When I saw it posted on the activities board, I asked Mom why she was not participating. After some nudging, she confessed it was because her arthritis caused difficulty shuffling the cards and she did not want to ask one of her tablemates to do it for her. This HJCMikee card shuffler was just the ticket to get her in the game.

The fact that it is battery powered was perfect since the card club meets in the dining room and there are no nearby electrical outlets. Even with the batteries installed (4 “C” size – not included), it is not too heavy for her to bring to the games. Does not have a huge footprint so it can stay on the table when not being used. Simple to operate – just split the deck in half, put each half on one side of the machine, and press the button on the top. For a budget machine, it seemed to pull cards equally from both sides which ensures a good mix. (see video I made). Can do a single deck in mere seconds (seller claims it can handle up to two decks of cards but I did not try it with more than one). Not obnoxiously noisy.

Will operate off a USP cord (included – USB-C on the machine, USB-A plug) but does not come with a wall plug adapter). Also, as it uses conventional alkaline batteries it is not rechargeable.

Mom has been using it twice a week for a month now and the batteries are holding up fine. Considering it only operates for a few seconds at a time, I would expect the batteries to last a long time before needing replacement. Also, she reports it rarely jams or sticks. I would recommend using decent quality, plastic coated cards to avoid problems.

Now, there is no question this is a basic, budget machine and I would not expect to use it in a “serious” setting or one where cash may be exchanging hands. However, for what it is it does a great job. Mom is happy so I am happy. I give it a full five stars – not because it is the best card shuffler in the world but because when considering price, performance, and features it represents a good value.

I am not a shill and I do not consider the fact that an item was provided without charge as part of my ratings. I have given Vine products one star, five stars, and all points in between. A defective, incomplete, dangerous, or fraudulently described item gets 1 star (zero is not an option), a below average product 2, and an average product 3. You have to earn a 4 or 5 star rating. My hope it they will help you make an informed, educated choice whether or not a product is right for your needs.

I'm no stranger to card shufflers--this is my fourth. The issue with all of them is that they are prone to jamming if the cards are not squared properly in the hopper. The first one I had was battery operated, and it broke after about a year and a half of use. The second one was hand cranked, and was less prone to jamming. I decided to give this one a try because, based on the photo, I thought it was rechargable--but it isn't. You can either use 4 C batteries, or use the USB cable to plug it into a wall or power bank. In terms of functionality, it works the same as the other card shufflers I've had, including a propensity to jam. The one difference between this one and the others I've had is the look--the simulated wood grain plastic and gold embossed spade on the push button is a marginal improvement over the bright red plastic the others are made of. Notwithstanding the jamming issues, which are not unique to this model, this shuffler is functional and helpful if you play a lot of cards, particularly if the games you play use two decks, where shuffling becomes more difficult. The price to quality ratio for this shuffler is good.

Picked up this 1-2 deck automatic card shuffler for our family game nights, and it's been a neat addition. It's got that retro vibe, which adds a bit of charm to the table.

Using it is straightforward—just load the cards, press the button, and it shuffles them up nicely. We've tried it with both one and two decks, and it handles both without a hitch. The shuffling is quick and saves us time between games.

It's compact and doesn't take up much space, which is great since our game table isn't huge. Plus, it's lightweight, so moving it around or storing it is easy.

A couple of things to note: it's a bit noisy when in operation, but nothing too distracting. Also, it runs on batteries, so make sure you have some spares on hand if you're planning a long game night.

Overall, if you're looking for a simple, effective card shuffler to speed up your games and add a touch of nostalgia, this one's a solid choice.

This card shuffler is going to be a total game changer for family game night! No more waiting around for my sister to slowly shuffle the cards — this machine handles it all, and it’s fast! Whether we’re playing UNO, Blackjack, or Canasta, the shuffler works perfectly with any deck, making sure the games keep moving smoothly. I love the retro casino vibe it gives off with the red oak wood grain, adding a little extra fun to the experience.

What’s really convenient is that it can be battery-operated or powered via USB-C, so I can use it anywhere, even if I don’t have batteries handy. It’s perfect for gatherings where we want to keep the flow of games going without any interruptions. Plus, the fact that it handles up to two decks at once means no more stopping between rounds to shuffle multiple times!

Family game nights just got a lot easier and more fun. Now we can dive into the games without worrying about shuffling, and I’m sure my sister is going to appreciate not having the pressure to shuffle quickly! It’s a win-win for everyone.
