....but forget trying to use setting four or five - you can stand there grinding for an hour and get very little if anything. However, the first three grinds produce fine, then middling-sized, then coarser, and the whole thing is quite easy to fill and use (bar a bit of a tendancy of the cap to cross-thread when being replaced) so, who needs the other two grind settings anyways? Overall one of the best grinders currently available without spending oodles of bucks - so, not too shabby at all, I think I'll keep it. :-)

I always had pepper everywhere and wanted an alternative - one that didn't have the pepper come out the bottom.
This grinder has the pepper come out the top and also you can select how coarse you want your pepper to be ground.
It's great.
It's very basic - the design - it's not fancy - so for a table, not the greatest if you want to put it on a dining room table or anything, but in our kitchen and on our island - great.

OXO - you could design a fancier option for dining rooms.

This grinder is not only ergonomic but it is also of exceptional quality. The grip is highly comfortable and easy to use even with wet hands. It is compact for storage, made of impact resistant material, and is aesthetically pleasing.

For the purpose of this review I went through all the different settings on the control selector. The difference between 'coarse' and 'fine' was quite remarkable and it faithfully did all the settings in between.

I would have gladly paid any price for a pepper mill that would do my beloved coarse pepper but I find this one to be an exceptionally good 'Bang-for-the-Buck'. It even came preloaded with exceptionally zesty peppercorns.
