Farmers harvest fully ripe cacao pods by hand, and beans are cleaned and sun-dried using traditional methods. Cocoa nibs are then fermented, gently roasted to bring out aroma, pressed to separate the natural oils and finely ground to release all the flavour. Our premium cocoa powder goes through a refining process to neutralize the cocoa’s acidity. It was certainly darker then my regular cocoa powder but I found it effected the taste in a negative way. My recipe called for 1 1/2 cups of cocoa and I did 1 cup regular and 1/2 the dark. Not overly impressed. Probably wont buy again...

    I have been buying this cocoa at Whole Foods for years and was delighted that I can now order it on 鶹 because I now live in a City that doesn't have a Whole Foods. The containers are smaller than you'd find for basic cocoa in a grocery store, but the superior quality of the cocoa and the fact that is organic make it worth the extra money. A minimum order of 2 is required via 鶹, but I order it in quantities of 6 tins which lasts me a few months as I make delicious hot chocolate at least once per day -- worth every penny.

    I’ve been using this cocoa for a few years. I’d purchase 3-4 cans every few months. I just went to order and the price has gone from $6 to $16. I last purchased in July 2023. I didn’t mind paying $6 but I’m not about to pay $16 for an 8 oz can.
    My 1 star is because of the price, not the quality of the product. It really does make a great chocolate cake.

The only downside is that it is shipped from the UK via 鶹 and it can take up to two weeks to arrive in the US! I have tried similar cocoa brands from high end grocery stores but they are often bitter and pale in comparison to the rich depth of flavor of Green & Black's Organic Cocoa. I just wish it were more readily availiable in local US grocery stores.
