    I wasn't sure about the price tag of this expansion but having now played with it, it is well worth it with how much content it contains. 10 new spirits, a new token that makes previously "meh" cards now worth it, a new mechanic in the Major Powers, etc.

    I was hesitant to buy any of the Spirit Island expansions, waited years actually. The big debate was: the extra tokens and events cards. Some people reported the tokens (wilds, beasts, strife, etc) made it too complicated. And that events cards (which randomly mess up your plans) were too unpredictable. Well I’ve played with them now, and I find the game dull without them. The tokens are easy after a few plays. The board seems cluttered to start but I didn’t notice it after a game or two. I love the added events as they bring just enough tension to make it interesting for veteran players. (It just gets better.) Last but not least, I though the spirits would be repetitive. Not so. Somehow the creators were able to make each spirit have its own style and thematic gameplay yet again. It’s so good. There is a lot of content in this (if you want to dip your toe in get Branch and Claw first, but not needed). And I’ll have years of gameplay from it. Add in the neat twists of new power cards, blighted cards, fear cards... I could go on and on. Only warning: game time. We used to run about an hour and a half. Times have been double that due to players reading the new cards, new spirits, and the increased difficulty. For me though, this is a must have expansion. Well done GreaterThanGames.

    Si te gustó Spirit Island y quieres aumentar tu experiencia de juego sin duda debes hacerte con esta expansión. Solamente por la cantidad de nuevos espíritus jugables ya merece la pena, pero además las nuevas reglas, eventos, fichas hacen el juego más equilibrado y da para seguir jugando muchísimas horas más a este gran juego.

    Durch "Jagged Earth" erhält Spirit Island zahlreiche neue Geister, neue Mechaniken (wie z.B. die Badlands) und Events. Die Geister sind durch die Bank interessant und spielen sich sehr unterschiedlich. Durch die unterschiedlichen Szenarios und Adversaries, sowie verschiedene Arten, die (inzwischen 6) Spielbretter zu kombinieren lässt sich die Schwierigkeit auch gut anpassen.

    Das Regelbuch enthält übrigens auch alle Regeln, die in "Branch and Claw" neu eingeführt wurden, sowie Errata und überarbeitetes Material für das Grundspiel.

    Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für alle Fans von Spirit Island.

    I am a huge board game player, and every time I play board games for some reason I just think about how much I love Spirit Island, and I feel like I have felt this way about Spirit Island ever since getting this expansion. The two best parts of this expansion for me is the new Spirits, which add a lot more strategic depth to the game, and the 6 player option. I will never forget teaching my friends how to play this in a day long 6 player game. I remember thinking that they would very much dislike the game and be bored. But after playing and finishing a game in 4-5 hours, they all wanted to go another round and requested higher complexity spirits (I had them start with low complexity spirits). Great expansion for a great game.
