Product Description

Our Story
Grampa's Weeder has been pulling out weeds and their roots for over a hundred years! This ingeniously designed weed removal tool was invented in 1913 in Seattle, Washington and people living in the Great Northwest quickly made it the MUST-HAVE weed puller for getting rid of weeds quickly and easily.
-
This all changed in 1999 when my husband Greg found my mother's strange looking garden tool in her garage. Once he figured out what it was and how it worked, he was hooked! The next thing we knew, Grampa's Gardenware Co. was born and we were hand-making this turn-of-the-century weed puller tool in that very same garage. As a small family business, we've come a long way in 24 years. It's amazing that this century-old weed puller tool, a simple lever, remains one of the most effective weed & dandelion removers on the market. What worked well in 1913 still works today.
3 Easy Steps
Step 1 - Center Over Weed
Step 2 - Press Into Ground
Step 3 - Lean Handle

Grampa's Weeder is the Original Stand-Up Weed Remover Tool
Don't be fooled by the look-alikes! Grampa's Weeder was conceived back in 1913 and its ingenious design works effectively over a century later. Hundreds of thousands of happy customers depend on Grampa's stand up weed puller tool to keep their gardens weed-free without harmful-toxic chemicals and weed killers.

Bamboo Long Handle and Powder Coated Metal Construction
Tackle the most persistent weeds in your garden without the aching back and dirty fingernails. All you need to do is thrust the metal claw into the center of the weed and tilt the bamboo long handle to pry the weed out.

Simple Design That Works
The statement "They don't make things like they used to" is what Grampa's Weeder is all about. You can rely on this ingenious design to make removing dandelions & other weeds more manageable and enjoyable.

American Family Owned Business
Owned & Operated in the Pacific Northwest. Proud to continue Grampa's journey for generations to come!

- Reviewed in Canada on May 10, 2025Verified PurchaseGrandpa's Weeder is a very sturdy, well made product that I wish I had found a decade ago, instead of stubbornly killing myself with dollar store forked hand weeders. It works amazingly well, and my back is thankful for the reprieve. Yes, you have to manually remove the weeds from the mechanism, but that's too minor of an issue to even describe as an inconvenience. I just move around with a 16 L pail, and my new friend Mr. Weed Stick makes light work of weed extraction. Sometimes need to hit more problematic dandelion clusters twice, but most are fully removed on the first go. Game changing, well made product that is worth the money. Deserves 10 stars. ⭐ 🌼 🌱
- Reviewed in Canada on May 9, 2025Verified PurchaseOmg. This made weed pulling a breeze! We just had some recent rain and so the ground all over the yard is moist and not bone-dry and I ordered this weed puller. Wow, I'm just amazed. No bending over needed-- this thing just pulled out dandelions SUpER easily. It's satisfying when you can pull out a big root and you see that you've got like all of it out. The sound it makes.. you can't nearly get that rate of success doing it by hand. I've never been so pleased over a garden tool.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 21, 2025Verified PurchaseGrampa’s weeder works just like it’s advertised. It works best on large weeds in moist soil. Wasn’t great with dandelions as the stalks are quite thin. But for those big garden weeds it was well worth the purchase.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 7, 2025Verified PurchaseCould be the best tool I've ever purchased online. So simple to use and works exactly as designed. When it arrived this afternoon I took it out to try it out a couple of times to see how it works in practise and before I realized it I had yanked out every single weed in sight on the front lawn. Comfortable to use size wise and the instructions are very clear and as I said it works exactly as described. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars...

5.0 out of 5 stars this ORIGINAL works great!
Verified PurchaseWonderful tool. the cheap fakes suck, but this tool is great. Gets roots and all. in wet weather can get some soil and leave a hole, but they fill in quick and having less weeds is better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best tool I've ever purchase for my garden.
Verified PurchaseI have servere arthritis so my mobility is limited & I am unable to kneel down to weed so I thought I'd look for a weeder that would work upright & didn't require bending. I did some research & liked the simplicity of this weeder so I order one. I have been able to weed most of my backyard from crabgrass in just a matter of minutes. I don't like using chemicals as I have a dog & it's not good for the environment so this is the go to tool for removing those stubborn weeds from your lawn. I absolutely love it & even though I have arthritis it is still very easy to use & also helps keep me active in the garden. 5 stars for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Garden Tool
Verified PurchaseI have been impressed with this simple, yet very effective garden weeding tool! It’s so simple to use. Simply stick it over the weed, push down with the assistance of the foot pad, release your foot and rock the entire tool back. Weed comes out from root to top. Easy!
Here are the reasons I really love it. No assembly. It’s one piece.
Hoeing gets the job done faster, but this tool prevents accidental hacking of the plants and flowers you want to keep. And hoeing usually cuts the weeds in half and doesn’t get to the roots. It can get tedious to remove weeds one by one with this tool, but it’s worth it in my opinion.
No bending, stooping, or kneeling. This has spared my bad back and knees.
I’ve been able to remove weeds growing through my creeping phlox without disturbing it. I’ve also been able to remove weeds growing tight against the edge of the walkway and sometimes in between shrub roots.
It’s also effective in hard to reach places. I’ve been able to remove weeds under thick shrubs by simply shoving the tool underneath and into the ground without using the footpad (because I can’t reach under with my foot) and rocking it back. 8 out of 10 times it’s been successful using it that way!
No more weed killer. It’s not good for our ground water since we’re on well water and I don’t have to worry about my grapes and blueberries being poisoned.
It also works on tree seedlings and saplings. We have ash and tulip trees sprouting up in the beds all the time and this tool removes those, too, by the root!
So far it’s been indestructible even after heavy usage (we have multiple very large beds)! The one thing I have to say is that if your soil has been getting a lot of rain, it can clog up in between the prongs. I’ve whacked and banged the prongs on garden boulders and our retaining walls to knock the clumps out. It takes the beating like a champ. The piece as a whole is super solid and very well made.
Just be aware that if you have mulch, the mulch can jam in between the prongs and sometimes takes effort to remove. Other than that, it’s such a great piece that other family members have since bought their own based on my experiences.
