    [This is for the 4K UHD version] This movie is the greatest western ever made and one of the greatest movies ever made. The problem with buying it on physical is most copies are the original blu-ray or the 2014 blu-ray version, both of which have issues with colour accuracy (either too yellow or too blue), and usually are the extended editions. The extra scenes in the extended editions dont really add much to the story and instead turn the normally perfectly paced film into a poorly paced one. The extra scenes were also poorly dubbed as well. This version thankfully fixes both issues. The 4K version includes a blu-ray disc too, but with the extra scenes removed and the colours fixed. The 4K version also has fixed colours and no extra scenes. This is the only way Ill be watching one of my absolute favourite movies from now on. Highly recommended.

    The best movie in The Man with No Name trilogy. Director, Sergio Leone crafts his best work ever with his true masterpiece. The visuals alone are a work of art. The camera work and locations are characters in their own right and and make you feel involved in the atmosphere. It's truly one of the best directed movies ever made.     KL Studios has done a spectacular job at restoring The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly to its original theatrical release.

    The colour timing has been corrected and its looks great, however the blacks can be too crushed and result in loss of detail at times.

    Film has a nice layer of grain, a 5.1 stereo soundtrack is provided along with a new 2.0 Mono that has the original soundtrack from the laserdisc.

    Some of the 2017 releases extra has been ported over to this release, though not all of them. The film commentary wasnt interesting and I gave up after 10 minutes.

    The vignettes are almost hilariously bad, theyre very short clips from the old MGM interviews, with one being a less than 10 second clip of Eli Wallach saying oh great he has a New York accent.

    The photo gallery is interesting, the trailers have been on previous releases, though it wouldve been nice to see them redone with clips of the new release.

    The slipcover has been out of print for some time now and Im happy to see it wasnt falsely advertised as having it, the cover art for the case is reversible with a neat little design.

    You also get a blu ray disc with the 4K, which contains most of the extras as well, and should be noted as not being the 2017 release, but a blu-ray version of the 4K.

    All in all this is the greatest home media release we have seen for this movie and will be unless KL can get their hands on the original film reel.

    Along with the BD extended version of this Western of Westerns, it is a pleasure to finally have the American cut of this great film in high def with the RESTORED ORIGINAL mono soundtrack as an option!
    Leone put tremendous sonic detail into his films, much of which is gone or altered in the updated 5.1 surround restoration.
    It's wonderfully nostalgic to finally hear the original gunshots that were so different sounding than American westerns, with their hissing acidic bite that sonically defined the Italian Western!

    My only minor reservation lies in the colour timing of the film. It is a cooler balance than I remembered seeing in the theatres during it's original run in the 1960s. The greens and blues are more vibrant and the skin tones are a little too red.
    The image detail and contrast are great, with the fine natural film grain intact.

    There is a new commentary by the wonderful Tim Lucas who is always interesting and detailed.

    Enjoy the action, snappy dialogue, and quite possibly, the greatest single music soundtrack ever partnered so unforgettably to a film's images!

    Kudos to KL for a definitive BD release!
