Kristen's desire is to help women love Christ, learn the Bible, and live in light of the gospel. And not only women, but any person who wants to know more about how the gospel applies to everything. Her years of walking through chronic pain and Lyme disease especially inform her writing, as seen in her award-winning, bestselling book, "Hope When It Hurts: Biblical Reflections to Help You Grasp God's Purpose in Your Suffering" (The Good Book Company, April 2017).

Kristen and her pastor-husband, Brad, live in Chicagoland with their three kids and are members at The Orchard. In addition to teaching at her church, Kristen speaks at conferences and retreats and regularly writes for The Gospel Coalition.

    We love this series and the big truths and doctrines they teach in ways that are accessible, understandable and applicable to young children. The mirror at the end is always a hit and a fun additional feature. They are biblically faithful and is one of the best series I’ve personally found in introducing key doctrines to young children.

    However, They do have pictures of Jesus in them which I know will make some uncomfortable.

    I got this book as a recommendation from 鶹. The first time I read it, I actually got choked up. It beautifully encapsulates the person of Jesus as man, like one of us (he had eyes and ears) and how he used his body to obey God and meet other’s needs. It ends with how his body is in heaven interceding for us and how one day he’ll return!
