I ordered this GoBang Waterproof Monster Truck for my 5 year old God Son. He's completely obsessed with anything Cybertruck related so I thought this would be the perfect gift for him.
This is a 1:16 scale truck so it measures approximately 10.5" from bumper to bumper. It has large 3.75" diameter x 1.75" wide real rubber tires with aggressive treads and approximately 2.75" of ground clearance so you'll be able to drive this over pretty much any terrain whether that's the carpet in your house or the grass, gravel and rocks in your backyard. On top of that, this truck is completely waterproof and floats so you can use it in your pool too which my God Son thought was really cool.
The body of the truck is a hard plastic and seems quite durable, so it should be able to handle multiple bumps, crashes and roll-overs without damage. During my "testing" I launched it off several obstacles up to 18" tall and while the truck didn't always land on all 4 wheels, there was not a scratch or dent on the body. It has a working LED light bar in the front and functioning spring suspension. There are two motors but they're not oriented in the traditional sense i.e. controlling front wheels and rear wheels. One motor controls the right side wheels and the other controls the left side wheels. This is what allows it to spin in place so easily.
The steering does take a little getting used to. If the truck is standing still, turning the control wheel left will make it spin in place counterclockwise and turning the wheel right will make it spin in place clockwise. When it's moving forward or backward, turning is a little limited so you have to let off the throttle a little in order to initiate the turn, then apply throttle again to keep going. The truck is much quicker than I was anticipating it to be and forward and reverse speeds are not variable, so it's either 100% throttle or it's off. This is OK for an RC car at this price point, but again, it does take a little getting used to.
The truck comes with two 600mAh, 7.4V Li-Ion batteries, each of which will give you about 20 minutes of run time. You get a USB-A charging cable but will need to provide your own charging adapter. The controller runs on 2 AA batteries which are NOT included so you'll need to supply those as well.
Overall I think this RC Monster Truck is well made and will be loads of fun for young kids to play with. The floating feature is really cool and increases the fun factor, so I'm giving this a highly recommended.
