We needed a solution for our porch light, which is on the same switch as our Ring cam. Obviously we don't want to ever shut off the Ring cam switch. A motion detection light worked at first but was annoying after a while. I also *hate* warm white lights and wanted 5000k (minimum). We took a gamble and tried this WiFi bulb and I'm so glad we did! It worked even through the coldest parts of the winter.
The app is terrific, letting you set the Kelvins of the bulb and create an on/off schedule easily. If the bulb does disconnect, it is very easy to reset by clicking the switch off and on. My husband is in cyber security and we're very cautious of random apps that come with random products from China - we opted for Globe because it's a known brand sold in stores.
The bulb did disconnect once, but I think that may have been because my phone moved it into deep sleep. It's easy to change this in the app permissions. I can't recommend this highly enough. Even though I know I'll have to change the colour temp in the summer to prevent attracting bugs, my only suggestion for improvement would be to allow for 6000k colour and make the bulb capable of brighter light (which you can scale down in the app!).
