Why I recommend Dewalt originals - not the copies...
I recommend the real Dewalt clips pictured in the top & left of pictures. The knock off copies are a bit smaller size, thinner material and, most importantly, have a “mouth” that is very narrow and might be problematic if you’re needing to blindly hook your tool on your belt while, say, standing precariously on a ladder. You can see in the pics that the Dewalt ones also stick down further to help you hook onto your belt. The knock offs are good quality and will certainly work well for many people. I gave them a reasonable “pull test” and they held their shape so the metal is not so thin that it’s going to bend etc. As for the bolt that’s included and the clips matching up to your tools - I believe these are designed for the 20v line and my older 18v tools require a slightly larger bolt to make it work. It’s not a design flaw or any sort of error. You’re a tool person so you can handle swapping out a bolt to adapt it to your older model tools - right!😉

    Had some tools that did not come with the belt hook, this is what they should have come with in the first place.

    Check that there is a nut installed in your drill or impact driver before purchasing. Not all DeWALT tools come with the nut installed for the clip, but they have the hole where the screw needs to go. Don't let the fact that there is a hole fool you into thinking this will just 'work'.

    I have the 20V MAX drill and impact driver from a combo kit. The drill does not usually come with the belt clip. This installed very easily on the drill and made it the way it should have come in the first place. My impact driver already had the clip, so I was able to give the other one to a friend.
