    BEWARE. It worked exactly as intended by creating friction and melting through the ABS but I made the mistake of stopping partway through. When I did that the melted ABS solidified around the wire. I could not free up the wire and eventually had to break the wire. So once you start cutting don’t stop until you are all the way through.

    Everything about this looked good until I needed it to work - unfortunately for larger diameter (+90mm) uPVC the steel cable is too smooth, so difficult to get a start and then really did not cut at all. It may work on smaller diameter PVC pipes and conduits due to getting a tighter encirclement, and I guess in a tight spot without any other options one may use it as a last resort and be very thankful- so perhaps good to have in the bottom of the tool box - but I wouldn't buy it again.
