- Reviewed in Canada on July 15, 2021Verified PurchaseNo mess, easy storage, universal bearing sizes, bearing grease packin.
Should have some kind of lid latch for storing but with lid being at different heights depending on amount of grease in there would make that complicated so I just use a rubberband.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does a good job
Verified PurchaseThis little gem did a fine job of packing my bearings. It was winter and the grease was thick so I had to put it on the floor to push harder but the grease squeezed through the bearings in proper fashion and I was happy. There is a way to pull the cup unit away from the canister using the device in the cap. It was not too sloppy. The price was significantly cheaper than I could purchase from the local mobile tool guy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Instructions, but great once you figure it out
Verified PurchaseThe instructions are terrible and for something you would think should be easy to figure out, it isn’t. Once you do figure it out (no help from the instructions) it actually works pretty good and you feel silly for not just figuring it out from the start. Packing wheel bearings is just a messy job no matter what, but this is a lot less messy than the dual cone type you use with a grease gun, and it wastes a lot less grease.
The first problem I faced was how to get the plunger out of it, I thought they accidentally glued mine in at the factory. The trick is in the knob you push down on, remove the piece that knob kind of twists onto, screw it onto the center shaft that the grease zert is on, then wiggle while you pull out, it’ll come.
You can use it with a grease gun to fill or pack your bearings, but you don’t have to. It has a built in grease gun zert on it.
I just used it for red Timken bearing grease and could push it fairly easy by hand, if however you are using a thicker grease or just aren’t very strong, the instructions show you can actually put it in a vice and squeeze it (about the only useable information in the instructions).
The only real design flaw is the “dust cap” you use for storing. It works for its purpose but I would have preferred it to be like a lid that fits over the top of the outer housing rather than a loose piece that just sits down inside of it.
If I were to ever lose or destroy this one I’d certainly buy it again. Also makes for a great wedding or baby shower gift.
