    This gas cap was very much like the original one that was on the mower. Even to the point that it is hard to get on and off the respective gas tank. The main reason I bought a new cap was that I could not get it on tight enough to prevent the cap leaking while mowing. A couple times I have had to use a pair of channel locks to get the cap on and off. So it was a good replacement, but has not entirely fix my problem. It is not leaking I think because I twist very hard to get it seated which I was likely not doing before thinking it was on as far as it could go. Having worked around molded plastics before, I beleive the cap is too close to the tank thread size or one has swollen or shrank. The real seal is in the upper portion of the cap, which is very hard to get seated.
