Typical construction. The only odd thing that bugged me at first was the rotary switch knob is sloppy through the hole. Good 1mm play. This may be a feature for 20 years from now. The original sockets' switch binds up, hence why it needed replacing. The extra freedom may allow a more freeing wear pattern around the contacts inside. This is what I tell myself. I have another same lamp that is binding badly so I should order another soon. Pretty cheap price.
