Excellent Player 3/4 controllers
Got these as controllers 3 and 4 for game nights. Definitely up there in terms of value per dollar as of this writing (June 2024), especially if you're looking for an authentic layout. Buttons are clickier than an OEM GCN controller (comparison here is to one moderately used one purchased way back in '09, and one brand new Smash Ultimate edition purchased more recently), and since tolerances are more relaxed, they sit looser in their holes in the shell and will rattle slightly if you shake the controller. I did have to open up the red one and trim off some excess plastic leftover in the L button that was preventing it from clicking at the end of its travel like it was supposed to, but the button press signal itself was working even before I fixed it, and overall it was a minor issue. Rumble is strong, not as nice/solid feeling as the OEM controllers, but no real complaints there. Sticks work great so far, no drift or other issues. In the Switch stick calibration menu, they do tend to snap to the outer circle a little more quickly than either of my OEM controllers, which seem to have a bit more sensitivity at outer ranges to go near the circle but not snap right to it. So far so good, I definitely feel like players 3/4 are getting a fair controller to use, and not the crappy "younger sibling" controller that 3rd party controllers often end up being. A hardcore Smash Bros player may find it doesn't play as well as they'd like, but if you're buying a GCN controller to take Smash seriously, I doubt you're looking at these ones. Anyone else would definitely not notice the difference.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 10, 2025Verified PurchaseA nice knock off of Nintendo’s controllers, almost identical
- Reviewed in Canada on July 11, 2024Verified PurchaseBought a pair of these controllers to replace a couple 20 year old, Nintendo branded controllers that were worn out. These WERE fine replacements for a "Double Dash" tournament and a "Smash Bros" tournament... Then the joy sticks started to break down.
After about 12 - 20 hours of use, both have significant stick drift and are basically useless.
2⭐ because they did work and for my immediate tournament needs, but now they are just extra junk around my house. For the price, they don't seem worth the effort to try and fix them.
