You can see from the product description pictures that the connector at the DS/GBA end has clips to attach the rubber boot to the metal connector shell. These can be pried to slide the boot off and expose the connector.
Firstly, if you pull on the cable to disconnect the plug then you are an idiot and you will break this cable. NEVER pull the cable to disconnect a plug.
That said, the cable grip is rather loose as it comes from the factory and I had to use some pliers to get mine to grip more tightly. Also, the usb plug seems silghtly oversized and is a tight fit in the USB port and the DS/GBA connector is a tight fit in the console.
It does fit, and it does work, but it's not particularly well designed.

Works perfectly, the only thing I want to note is that you really have to jam the connector into your device.
I have tested with both a DS original and a GBA SP, and it basically barely fits; but it gets the job done without having more bulky power bricks everywhere in the house. Definitely would buy again, this would be great for travelling.
