The GLEAM Microphone Stand is well made from a light and sturdy metal. The stand comes in pieces but is easy to put together, just screw the parts togethers. The base is pretty heavy and wide, so it should be stable, but it's not really professional grade for stage use. The base has a rubberized bottom to prevent floor scratches. This stand comes with a couple of options for mic holders and some wire guides. Overall good quality and very useful in my rehersal space.

Its ok for home use. The base is heavy enough but the clip to hold microphone is little flimsy.

The universal Mic mount by Gleam is great for the home music studio that does not require a lot of changes frequently. I do love the round base at the bottom as opposed to a tripod stand as it does provide for more stability when using it. When it comes to what types of microphones it will hold, I think it is meant for smaller and thinner microphone handles than you think it would be made for. Mine is almost too big to fit and stay in the clip that is provided. It is definitely not made for heavy use, moving it from location to location which is clearly representative of the price point which is $29.99 CAD at the time of this review. I would not pay more for it that is for sure. I think that it would make a great microphone stand for a person just starting to perform and record at home, doing live streams or for using for home based Karaoke if you do not want to hold the microphone. When adjusting the height of the stand you can easily have to retighten other areas of the stand as they seem to turn at the same time compared with others which you can count on only the location that you want being the only part that adjusts at that particular moment. I recommend but not for heavy duty use and I am not sure how long the stand will last if you do use it more frequently for changing heights and or locations.

I like this stand a lot. It works really well for what I need, it's pretty sturdy and the height is adjustable so you can get it at the right height for you. I'm just under 6 feet and it's adjustable enough to be too high for me if I want it to be!
It's a little disappointing that there's no instructions in the box, but to be honest it's very easy to put together - you're just screwing the sections into each other to form the stand, then screwing it to the base. No issues there.
The only downside to having no instructions in the box is that I don't really know what the accessories are for. Luckily for me, I didn't need to use them whatever they're for. The standard mic attachment fits my microphones perfectly, so I was able to just screw that on and it was ready to go.
The stand is priced at CAD $29.99 at time of writing, and I think that's a really good price. The quality seems good to me, it holds the mic well and the base is heavy and sturdy enough to keep it upright. Feels solid.
It matches the store page description and store page images perfectly, as far as I can tell. You see the store page and you know what you're getting basically.

This mic stand gets the basics right — it’s easy to set up, the base is stable enough for casual or home use, and the included accessories (like the mic clip and cable holder) are useful. The boom arm is adjustable and holds its position fairly well as long as you’re not mounting a heavier microphone.

That said, the materials feel a bit lightweight. I wouldn’t trust it with a more expensive or heavy mic. For podcasting, light vocal work, or basic home recording, it does the job. Just know this isn’t a studio-grade stand — more of a solid entry-level option.

I’m so thrilled with this. My son has wanted one for so long but money is tight, so I had to get the cheapest one available. I did not expect it to be of such great quality. All parts are extremely well made and set up took less than a minute.

I love the heavy base but top pole is a little thin and doesnt seem too stable and worried it will warp overtime, with my rode n1 attached to it.

This is a tough review because this would be a perfect stand for certain uses and a poor stand for others.

I've been a performing musician for over 30 years. That experience screams out to me that this is a very lightweight, inexpensive stand. At 4.5lbs the "heavy weight" stand base is only half of a typical 8-9lb base you would see on stage, this means its easier to tip, and you can't use a mic boom or it will certainly tip. Additionally the base is a flat piece of steel, meaning that if you are on any stage that is not concrete, you will pick stage rumble through the microphone. Additionally, the metal is very light and thin, the threads on the base and stand pole are finer threads than you'll see on standard quality mic stands meaning they are susceptible to cross threading. I would only consider using this as a backup or standby mic stand...or maybe put some stick on silicone feet onto it and use it as a mic stand on a guitar or bass cabinet or a room mic for your IEMs.

However, if I were a younger musician looking at a mic stand for my garage band that wouldn't empty my wallet, this would be a good option. It will sit in a basement or garage just fine and hold up over time. But it won't travel well if you take it to gigs.

For it's price, it delivers but don't expect the durability or functionality of the mic stand that costs 2-3 times as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for my DIY Vocal Booth

Been needing a standard, non-boom, straight up-and-down-type mic stand for my home studio setup and I saw this so I figured I'd give it a try. I got it holding my Shure 55SH inside the vocal booth I built myself, and it stays planted even with the foam walls and tight space. The base is heavy enough that I don’t worry about it tipping over or wobbling while I’m recording.

I was kinda worried it might feel cheap but it’s got good weight to it and holds the mic steady even when I’m moving around a bit in the booth. Setup was easy too, pretty much just screw and go.

Only minor thing is the thread for the mic clip was a lil tight at first but once I got it on, it’s been locked in ever since. Doesn’t creak or shift or none of that.

If you’re tryna get a no-bs stand for your home studio that just works, this one’s a good pick. Works perfect with my booth and makes the whole space feel more pro.

3.0 out of 5 stars I used these bases to make desktop mic and camera mounts.

These make great desktop mic and camera mounts. I got two of them, and I may get two more.

First some of the pictures show a traditional thick metal base and the unit I got was a flat lightweight version.
Nothing wrong with a cheap mic stand its just not a stage mic stand that is going to hold up to rolling and twirling it around like David Lee Roth.

The center post is not super thick and I recommend if you are not going to break it down for travel to locktite it.

It's a compact lightweight unit that is fine for travel and static usage.
Unless you add weights to it it will not handle adding a boom or anything off center.
Personally as is stands without added weight I would probably knock this over at some point.

What I did was to drill out the center from the bottom, and install a 3/8-16 cold shoe adapter with quikweld epoxy.
I tried to use a 3/8 hex head flush bolt but that was way too big to mount flush on the bottom

Then I put on a 3/8-16 to 5/8-27 adapter and mount a mini boom arm or extension.
This can also be adapted with a 1/4-20 on the top if you buy the expensive cold shoe mounts with dual threads.
Since the base is ferrous you can pop on a rubber coated magnet with a 1/4-20 if you need to.
I will also be drilling a second hole about 3-4cm from the back edge and installing a 2nd 3/8 cold shoe this way I can mount a light a camera and a mic on the same flat base on the desk.

I really wish that manufacturers understood that versatility is what sells products to a wider selection of customers.
If these had a 5/8-27 thread on the base and at each pole end that would allow anyone to just pop it on a desk and mount a mic on just the base, or take out one section of the center pole at the top for my kid to use for their karaoke night.

    Thanks! Hope this Helps.
