Does the job

- Reviewed in Canada on February 1, 2025Verified PurchaseUsed this to replace a dead ASRock B650M Pro RS for my daily work computer that I occasionally game or do design work on (7950x, rtx 4080 super, 32GB DDR5 ram, 3x 1tb NVMe SSDs, 850W corsair psu). Does the job, priced competitively, looks good without looking like gamer rainbow trash, etc. The NVMe slots are better thought out than other boards'. You don't need to manually screw/unscrew each drive there is a little round piece that you rotate and snap each drive in place or to remove.
Only complaint is it's still a bit pricey for a single board, especially when there are cheaper (but somewhat less capable) AM5 boards out there.

- Reviewed in Canada on November 21, 2024Verified PurchaseThe issue is that there appears to be a design or compatibility limitation of the Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite AX, particularly with high-density memory configurations. While Gigabyte has made efforts to improve memory compatibility through BIOS updates, mid-tier motherboards like this one may not be ideal for demanding setups involving 4 x 32GB DDR5 modules. In my case, the system will not boot with 4x32GB. Yes the memory sticks are on the Gigabyte QVL, but I can only use 2 sticks. WTH? (I replaced the Board, and got a memory kit off the Gigabyte QVL and had the same problem!!!! Tries CPU's PSU's etc. The Board is Crap.
I make computers for people so now I have to extract the motherboard, pack it up a second time, return it as a used/open box item, find a replacement, and install. I also had to do more research to choose RAM for this replacement then I have ever had to do on any system. Clearly the DDR5 and AM5 standards are further muddling and confusing compatibility for RAM. There should be a much more obvious caution and warning that these motherboards do not merely use DDR5 but very specific kits and configurations. Anyone used to DDR4 will end up with problems if unaware. So that is why the low review for wasting my time.
SO 3X THE WORK because Gigabyte can no longer produce a remotely acceptable product.
We got a 192GB kit that was listed on the QVL, and we replaced the Board just in case it was faulty.
Guess what. The 192GB Kit listed on the QVL results in no boot red DRAM light.
Im so done with Gigabyte. A free motherboard would not change my mind. This is the kind of mistake you lose money on and never forgive.
EDIT: Latest Windows 11 Update made it inoperable again despite the custom fixes I applied in BIOS resulting in a drive to client site to reset the BIOS config and do it all again.
I cannot warn others enough. Gigabyte is a failing company from what I can see at present. This is upsetting. I have used them almost exclusively for 20 years and built well over 1500 computers with Gigabyte boards. Trying to use Gigabyte support is offensive. The kind that makes you say forget it and take the losses since the time is worth more than the parts. Unbelievable how bad its gotten.
Anyhow the attached image clearly shows this should be working and its not.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible state of packaging and missing important screws
Verified PurchaseIt arrived in a ragged state like it was bashed through rain all torn, the box was safe but the motherboard itself has NO screws, WRONG retention clip and not fitting the description at all, a bunch of the slots are loose, and it might be secondhand at a high degree... Horrible experience

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage
Verified PurchaseThis won't even turn on, let alone boot. It's the first time I've used a Gigabyte motherboard, and never again. At first, I thought it was a power supply fault, but it tested fine. I then spent two days going over my connections and testing the case switches, fan and LED headers. Don't buy this motherboard, buy any other brand but this.

5.0 out of 5 stars First time buying something from Gigabyte
Verified PurchaseNever tried this brand before and i LOVE IT. The software is really nice, better than Asus that forces you to download several programs, this does everything that Asus does in just one software. The Motherboard itself feels high quality, easy to use software, easy to install, easy to upgrade bios. There could be some rgb lights on the motherboard if that's your thing, otherwise this is a perfect motherboard for gaming.
Note: If you're going to do overclocking then look for the "X670E" version, that version is more suited for that. I honestly don't see the point in overclocking just to gain 4 or 5 more Fps at the cost of reducing the lifespan of my hardware.
