DAVID Gilmore Signature Boomer set
From the manufacturer

GHS Strings GB-DGF David Gilmour Signature Series, Nickel-Plated Electric Guitar Strings (.010-.048)
David Gilmour's connection with GHS Boomers series goes back to 1979, when he started using them on Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' project.
He uses gauges 010-012-016-028-038-048 on his Fender Stratocaster and gauges 010 1/2-013-017-030-040-050 on his Gibson Les Paul . Decide for yourself which is right for you!
Often called David Gilmour 'Blue' set - this is one of our most popular string sets.
The GHS Boomers Series are the flagship set of GHS Strings. Used by musicians in every genre, the Boomers have shown to stand up to any playing style. Now known as 'The Power String', GHS Boomers continue to make their mark on music across the world. The round wound guitar set is made with Nickel-Plated steel wrapped tightly around a round core wire. The combination provides the string with its bright characteristic and long-lasting tone.

Contents Uniquely Fresh
GHS Strings is not just an electric guitar string company – we're much more! We are the string brand inspiring you to play an extra encore. We are the string brand encouraging you to play harder, go longer. We are the string brand that's got you covered – whether you're playing electric or acoustic guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele and more.
Since 1964, we've been winding guitar strings in the same southwest corner of Michigan that gave birth to one of the most famous guitar brands. Though based in Battle Creek, we are global, but our values remain rooted in mid-western soil. We are fiercely independent – we are no-nonsense perfectionists believing in hard work, craftsmanship, and the power of music.
GHS Strings is a family of artists and experts built on tradition to help aid in the quest for personal string design and tone. To that end, we still use round core wire for much of our guitar strings and use some string specs decades old.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 9, 2024Verified PurchaseI like them. Will buy them again.
- Reviewed in Canada on May 4, 2021Verified PurchaseOne of the strings had a right angle kink in it, which left a weird bump in the string even once strung up, but customer service resolved my issue with no complaints. They bend really effortlessly compared to the old set of strings I had on my guitar, and they sound crisp and resonant. I can't speak for the longevity of them yet as it's only been about a month, but so far so good. I've done some super far bends and the strings didn't break!
- Reviewed in Canada on March 25, 2025Verified PurchaseGood just a little thick on low E
- Reviewed in Canada on June 26, 2024Verified PurchaseI've been using these for almost a decade now and they sound and feel great. Haven't looked twice since I first tried em. Go for the 10.5 gauge if you'd want a richer tone, but won't be as easy to bend
- Reviewed in Canada on November 7, 2020Verified PurchasePreviously go to was D'addario, and find that these outlast them and don't get dull as fast. Haven't broken one yet so they seem to be durable, and the sound is at least as good as other good brands I've tried like D'addario and Ernie Ball. Also like the custom sizes, might have to try the red one sometime.
- Reviewed in Canada on October 1, 2022Verified PurchaseI been using these strings since 2008 and they are the only strings I will place on my guitar.
- Reviewed in Canada on August 9, 2019Verified PurchaseI actually would order a custom set exactly like this from some other brand before. I like these because the B and G strings are thinner than what you would find on a normal 10s set. You're used to seeing 10,13,17 gauges for the upper strings but these are 10,12,16 for the treble side and that makes a lot of difference to me. I like the thicker strings on the low end for Metal riffs and chugging in Standard tuning.
- Reviewed in Canada on November 5, 2021Verified PurchaseOn the 1st set I tried, the top E string broke 2 inches in front of the ball end, and behind the bridge
of the guitar. The tuning stability and brightness fade at about the same rate as other strings I've used
in this price range. On set #2, once again the top E string snapped 2 inches in front of the ball end.
Now I'm starting to think manufacturing defect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliantly melodic.
Verified PurchaseThis is the second string set that has made me realised that how much of an impact gauge can make on your playing. The first was daddario flat wounds, those make you play Jazz. However, Gilmour’s boomers are excellent for playing melodic rock solos. Instantly you sound like David Gilmour, Eric Clapton and the sorts. G is unwounded thus soft to bend and has a sharp tone. Gives a nice bell tone on a strat. The top 3 strings e,a,d seem rigid when you come up from playing the bottom 3 g,b,E. The overall strum sounds balanced with a slightly heavy base notes and relatively shrill high notes without much of mids. Which somehow sounds clear and crisp. One thing I am sure of is these are going to be rusty very soon.
