The fast-fret is a string and neck lubricant and string cleaner for all stringed instruments. Included is a free counter display box with 12 cans - not a spray! It is a liquid in an applicator - use it on fretboard, strings, back of Neck. This allows the fingers to slide freely, keeping the strings clean. - good for wood.

Pros:
-Revives older strings
-Less resistance means slightly faster playing
-Hasn't damaged any finish in my 20 years of using it
-It's nice there is a cleaning cloth included

Cons:
-Less friction on the strings can cause you to overshoot a slide when you're not used to it
-Can cut hand on the sharp lid

Different than the good old Fast Fret.
This new version is better to clean guitar strings than ever. I Miss the cherry smell but I really prefer this new applicator, the cloth is still not good at all to wipe the strings.
Conclusion, I prefer this new version, do a better Job and less messy, need just to find a better cloth to wipe your strings after the application, I use a old glasses cloth, do a clean job. I really recommand this product, a must to have for cleaning strings and keeping your fretboard like new.
Best Fast Fret EVER.

My hands get quite sweaty when I play, and I got tired of having to replace strings too often due to them getting corroded, so I bought this product to clean and protect my strings. At first it was okay, even though I'm not a fan of the strong fragrance it has, and the slippery feel of the strings was a bit too much. But after just a couple of days of regular application of this product, I started noticing that the strings become very sticky after just 30 minutes of playing. Seems like they still corrode as much as they used to, but now, they also become sticky and even reapplying the product doesn't help.
Going to try elixir coated strings next, and if it doesn't help, I guess I'll just have to stick to cheap strings and replace them every week :(

Great product! When my Elixir strings lose their slipperiness, I use Fast Fret but only on the #1 and #2 strings (the E & B strings). Supposedly Elixir doesn't recommend this because "supposedly" all the strings are coated. We'll after awhile & before the bottom (heavier) strings lose their coating the top strings start to stick on my fingers. This brings the slide back to the first 2 strings. Does not affect the sound in the tiniest bit (I have a very good ear & have consulted other musicians with a very good ear). Also it extends the life on the 1st & 2nd string. So yes, you can use on Elixir strings (but in this very specific way!).
